Anyone know Maytag refrigerators?

6 year old Maytag top freezer refrigerator (19 cu ft - Model M1TXEGMYS01) just quit yesterday morning. No power. Interior light doesn't work, and nothing turns on. Checked breaker - all good. Unplugged and ran power with extension cord to another outlet. Nothing. Local repairman can't get here until Friday. Is there a magic $.50 fuse somewhere? Ideas?

Most likely a control board went bad or you have a wire loose somewhere in the power circuit going to the board.

Such junk, glad to hear you made 6 yrs. My 2.5 yr Whirlpool just needed a 340 buck repair. Hope yours is less bs.

Dookey, you were close. I didn't look close enough. The power cord had one leg of it chewed through by a mouse right where it entered the power supply. Appliance guy fixed it up and only charged $65 for the service call. Dodged a bullet there.
Jmagg, do you have a favorite refrigerator you would buy now? Our repair folks in NW Indiana will not work on Samsung's or LG's.

I've always gone Whirlpool with the least bells and whistles. Didn't work this time. I've also heard LG and Samsung are a pia. Side note Whirlpool, Màytag and a few others are the same manufacturer and share part numbers. At this point I think it's a matter of luck.

We had a Kenmore refrigerator that we bought when we got our 1st house in 1987, and it is still going in my buddys garage, 32 years later. Can't find them anymore....

PROBABLY a Whirlpool...Kenmore didn't actually make appliances....just rebranded them. For decades, if it said "Kenmore" on it...it was made by Whirlpool.
