Anyone know of a program that will resize pictures?

Like in WinXP when you send to mail reciepent it asks you if you want to make the pictures smaller, and it will resize all the pictures you selected. Is there a software out there that will do that? 1600x1200 is way to big for web pictures.

you can just assing the image a specific size with the image tag in HTML... just make sure to keep it the same ratio, should turn out fine...

you'd be better off getting a graphic arts prog like Photoshop. You can resize with html but your image is still huge and the quality takes a sharp nosedive. Download any old photo editing program, it will resize for you.

irfanview is freeware and should meet all your needs. gimp is free too.
try both or either. doesn't mspaint have limited resizing capabilities
that might meet your needs ? there is also another excellent freeware
paint program called pixia. do a search. its a japanese baby.

In Paint Shop Pro all you do is click on the image menu item, then on resize. You tell it either exactly what size you want it (in pixels, inches, etc.) or tell it to resize it by a percentage. Pretty easy. You get a 30 day trial that's not disabled in any way. The only downside to this compared to some of the others mentioned is that it costs about $100.

The problem is that the entire image still has to load. Let's say you have a 1600x1200 image that's 400 KB. If you drop that directly into an HTML document &amp; display it at 800x600, you still have to load the entire 400 KB to show the image. If you resize the file itself, you'd only have to load 100 KB to display the same 800x600 image.

Plus, I trust PhotoShop to re-size an image a lot more than I trust IE.

With irfanview...right click on your pic. , select open with irfanview, press &quot;ctrl+r&quot;.....then you have the choice to resize by percentage or specific pixel size. Easy peasy.

The quality only takes a dive if you increase the size. If you decrease the size, if anything, the quality should get better...

Of course I've heard of photoshop and mspaint, I just wanted something that can resize all my pictures at once.

I'll try out SuperJPG. Infanview can't resize all the images at once

not necessarily true, you can get jaggies and whatnot because the computer still has to try and guess which pixels to cut out.

if you want to resize with no loss of image quality, try genuine fractals. you can resize bigger or smaller and it'll still look good.

Another program that can resize multiple images at a time is ImageWalker. It's shareware but completely functional and does an excellent job.
