Americans should pronounce it Roeyk-Sop, and the "o" is pronounced like cop. It's not scandinavian, the scandinavian is the O with the line through it, Ø, it's german and such.

I've got a bunch of their music, and yes, Röyksopp are pretty good.

I don't know whether it's right or wrong but I pronounce it exactly the way it's spelt, and I couldn't imagine being able to say it any other way. That would be "royk-sopp", err, yeah. Roy as in toy. That's all I've got.

I can't believe some of you have never seen an umlat before (¨) or knew what it was :-/

Hahaha, no but it came up in this little thread I was posting in.

I just used to work for a Scandinavian company and went to Copenhagen alot.

I know and like them, too.

Pronounce the "ö" like the i in "girl" and the "y" like the i's in "India".

They are norwegian and sometimes referred to as "Røjksopp" as well
