It's a video card.

Would be interesting if it was GDDR3.

http://www.xfxforce.com/product_view.php?sku=PVT40KND

According to this website, the card has a gddr3 memory interface. I guess it means that the memory is gddr3 and should be highly overclockable.

Then again, it also says that it has a 256MB memory configuration. Cheap BS marketing is just saying what the GPU supports, and not what is actually available on the card until a little bit below and even then the 256MB is there.

The 400MHz is a typo compared to the sight that shows 3.9Gtexels / 12pipelines = 325MHz

hehe, wise a$$.

400MHz core? Its either the OEMs getting fancy with their boards or a helluva typo mess.

I wouldn't care if the hsf was in the shape of an A$$. At 400MHz ( if thats true ) for 295 smackers I dont care what it looks like. I am not one for looking through my acrylic window in the side of my case constantly admiring my video cards hotness.

I don't even think it's ugly. What's ugly about it? It looks like any other 6800NU to me.

XFX is getting into the habit of OCing their cards, I think, so this is probably a 12-pipe 6800 with a relatively largely OCed core (325 -> 400MHz) and two luscious DVI-I interfaces. The cooler looks pretty anemic, though. Good candidate for a VGA Silencer II?

That blue color just clashes horribly with the orange NF7s boards. To tell you the truth the green GT boards don't look great next to it either. Why do you think I've been buying ATI cards all this time?

Does it have the black X design on the back? I liked that part of my GT board.

Actually blue and orange are complimentary colors... but... since when do PC's have to be color coordinated? Sounds kinda fruity to me... maybe some people need to switch to iMacs

so u've been buying ATI cards because of their red color? do u have an MSI mobo? Btw, that card would go great with a blue shuttle mobo or gigabyte. my old gigabyte was a nice blue...i just wish asus would stop makin those brown boards. they old skool though.

Yeah I find it humorous that people purchase graphics cards based on how they look instead of how they perform and how much they cost.

I have been doing some research on a bunch of 6800 NU cards and found this little bit that was interesting to me:

Chaintech 6800

If you notice, they say that the memory on it is 2.2 ns which would give you 909 MHz at the minimum. It also comes stock at 358 core/770 memory. Cards from most of the other companies as wells as the reference designs come with 2.8 ns memory rated at 714 MHz. Also, Gainward comes overclocked to 400 MHz and includes 2.5 ns RAM, so that is also a good looking card.

Yeah. I've been looking for a 6800 and the Gainward looks like a good option coming in at 400mhz. Although what does, "Golden Sample" mean? Sounds kinda, kinky...

Anyway, if you could afford either one, would you go with teh Gainward I linked to, or the XFX that started this thread?

why would you get a Gainward with 2.5ns ram when you can get that Chaintech AA6800 turbo (with 2.2ns/900mhz) for less??

Zipzoomfly has the Chaintech card for $286 shipped.
