funny...I have always been inmersed in different types of music. When I was a child I listen to Salsa, some spanish ballads ( I was born in South America so that was all I listened) then I started listening to latin rock ( the good type from Argentina, some mexican bands are good too), then "ballenato" originally from Colombia (my mother loved it and I used to hate it but somehow when I moved to the US I started liking it). Not too mention cumbia, Samba (My father used to travel to Brazil a lot and he'd bring music from there). The only latin music I hate with passion is bachata (well I do like Juan Luis Guerra but that's the only thing), the Mexican "band" music and the Reggeaton. Here in the US. I grew fond of alternative rock and slowly got into the whole indie rock which I am currently hooked ( but that's not so foreign since it's in english but some are from Canada, Australia and the UK so I won't go into details).From that indie rock thing I started researching into some indie rock in spanish and I found quite a lot from Spain and South America. I also listen to Portuguese, Italian, french.
I also forgot to mention that during my "I like manga and anime" phase I also listened to a bunch of japanese music but I stopped after I learn what the lyrics meant (most of them made no sense or were really corny or stupid...but I think what I liked most about them was the instrumental parts). Besides from that I also know the folklorik music from most parts of south america.
