Anyone need paint this weekend?

I get emails every once in a while from Sherwin Williams.

Here's a 33% coupon off any Sherwin Williams paint or stain.

Print it and clip it and you're good to go. Not sure how hot it is, though.

not sure how I got it (maybe through work), but you only need to print it out and take it to a dealer. according to the coupon, nothing else is required.

prices might not compare... but I can tell you one thing, the paint at home depot (behr or glidden) is just colored mud... sherwin williams or benjamin moore are the only two worth using if you're going to put in the effort to paint (unless its a rental or you're moving out etc.)... not sure what brands lowe's carries..

I just painted the entire interior of my house, I only Dunn Edwards paint, the paint is excellent, I know they are in at least So Cal, but worth the little extra bit of money.

Good coupon find though, I would think SherwinWilliams would be good.

Lowe's is the exclusive carrier of American Tradition, made by Valspar.

In regards to your comments on Behr, I would have to strongly disagree and refer you to the consumerreports annual testing of interior paints, which for the last few years has placed American Tradition, Behr and Pratt&Lambert all consistently in the top 3 spots, although the order does shift around usually.

Obviously HD and Lowe's are in a very big fight for paint products to sell and really could not afford to sell a paint that isn't very high quality, thus your evaluation of Behr paints seems unfair to me.

Behr paint worked just great the last time I used it, and I sell American Tradition all day long.

We used DE on our exterior. A couple years later we decided to switch and I tried Behr instead. I really noticed no difference in coverage or consistency between the two. If anything, Behr seemed a little thicker.

From my observations... it seems that most of the brands have different quality levels... like a cheap line and an expensive line...

I personally believe that when buying paint, you get what you paid for.
