Even if/when someone figures out a way to change the FSB/Multiplier on the Xbox,
WHAT'S THE POINT!
It's a games console for goodness sake! Any games will be designed with that spec in mind, so upping the chip to 800 or so isn't gonna make any difference, even if they can find a way to make the machine report it...
Chances are you'll end up breaking a $300 machine, and with no point at all... now that's pathetic...
It's not just a console; it's a small PC. It's got processor, video, RAM, an OS, a hard drive; got everything in there. There's a debug jumper, which may give some sort of BIOS access. Slap active cooling on the CPU and memory, and a peltier on the GPU, and it should be able to take some overclocking.
Well, the gamecube is just as much of a pc as the xbox...it has a mobo, a cpu, a gpu, a proprietary dvd-rom drive, just missing the HD. Just because it uses PC part doesn't make it a PC.
<It's got processor, video, RAM, an OS, a hard drive> ...ergo it's a PC? Then so is a mac, a PS2, hell, so is a gameboy. The hardware is customised, not generic PC components...
the reason xbox is more like a pc is because it uses almost the same components we have in our comps when the other consoles use specially designed stuff you wont find in a pc
I've also heard if you overclock it, the game play will be faster, example it will feel like you have the fast forward button on during the game. For that reason NOONE will overclock.

"almost", being the key word. Even still, the Xbox is specifically designed with stuff you won't find in a pc.

No, because it uses the WinNT kernel (or something like that), so you won't notice anything, it'll just perform better, just like on your computer. When people overclocked a PSX it would.
