I see in the BIOS you can change PCIe speed from 100MHz and up, just wonder is that for when you overclock your graphic card?

there is no real gain from increasing the PCIe frequency, as it is a very fast BUS as it is, and increasing the frequency just 5-10mhz can cause stability issues.

When overclocking GFX card?s you predominantly look to increase the memory (GDDR3 etc) and GPU frequencies, i have done this with my BFG 6800 Ultra <<See Sig>> To do this i used the Reg Hack for Nv tools, and this allows me to OC the frequencies through the Nv control panel.

it is totally different ball game OCing GFX cards, they do not scale no where near the same as CPU/System memory does

hah, my 9800se scales a hell of alot better than my cpu/memory. besides the softmod, i get 440 on the core and 370 om the memory from stock 380/340. my mem cant oc for crap, just 208, and my cpu technically only goes from 2200 to 2400, i dont really consider 1.83 stock on the 2500m, all mobiles couldve easily passed the tests for 3200. anyways, theres no point in ocing the pci-e bus, its already overkill.

Yeah but going by what you have stated:

GPU: = 15.8% increase

GFX Memory: = 8.8% Increase

Now for an average OC on an SD and Venice core:

3700+ San Diego 2.2Ghz stock to an average OC of ~2.7Ghz = 22.7% increase

3000+ Venice 1.8Ghz stock to an average OC of ~2.6Ghz = 44% increase

and any half decent Cas 2.5 RAM (2 x 512 DC modules) can reach an average OC of 20% at minimum, with mine i can reach around (300Mhz 1:1 2T) 50% OC

So no they do not scale the same, performance or speed related !

EDIT: and the performance increase from the SD cores when Oced, is > than linear

youre not going apples to apples. all i said was that it doesnt always work out the way you stated it, and my ram is cas 2 and doesnt go above 208, although it could very well be my motherboard.

UMM, just to ask, can you read??

He was ovbiously showing that a CPU doesnt always overclock better then a graphics card
