Anyone own Alice: Madness Returns?

I have it on PC, not console.

I was a big fan of the previous game, American McGee's Alice. It's quite dated now, and I suspect a lot of people who bought Alice: Madness Returns for XBox 360 or PS3 didn't even bother to redeem their code for a console port of it.

If there's anyone around who still has this code, unredeemed, and would PM it to me, I would be deeply appreciative.

They didn't rerelease it for PC, but I think they did a few slight graphical improvements for it on console even if just the ability to play it with a controller... I'd like to have it out of a sign of respect to the original game.

There was a special edition of Madness Returns that was available from Origin that included a digital copy of the first game for the PC. I don't know if you can still get it, but it might be worth looking into.

I have Madness Returns for the PC, but didn't get the special edition since I already have a copy of American McGee's Alice.

Edit: it looks like you can get a used copy on Amazon for about $30 if you are okay with not getting all of the boxes and manuals from the game.

Used copies may have the code redeemed or missing

Appreciate it, but I actually have owned the original game for years. Since it came out. The PC version that is.

My understanding is that the port they put on consoles has better widescreen support, maybe some graphical improvements (not sure) and elegant controller support. That's why I'd like it.

I got duped today and bought it on XBox Live for what amounted to about 10 bucks, then found out after that you have to have Madness Returns on XBox for it to work :|

I wonder how the XBox determines that you have it... I know it can't be a code thing because that's the whole reason they sell it independently, for people with Madness Returns who didn't have the code.

So do I just need to obtain a disc briefly, long enough for the XBox to have had it in, and therefore permanently be flagged as having it? Maybe save a game on the HDD?

I need to see if I can find someone to borrow it from... I don't have a gamefly subscription and Netflix doesn't rent games do they?

I refuse to be even more stupid than I've already been and buy it when I already own it for PC... just so that what I already bought will work.

I have the PS3 version and you have to launch the original from with the Madness Returns' home screen. That's why the Madness Returns disc is required to play the original.

I wouldn't waste your time playing the console version. In my opinion the controls on the PS3 for the original American McGee's Alice were annoying. I barely managed to get through the whole game. Also, there were significant framerate dips throughout. If I ever play through it again, it will most definitely be the PC version of the game.

Whatever the criticism for the console port of the original, it is FAAAAAR and away better than the sequel. That thing was HORRIBLE!!! It felt like a chore getting through it. The original on the PC was one of my favorite games of all times, and I had high hopes for the sequel, but what a disappointment.

I actually think Madness Returns is pretty good. My GF liked it even more than I did.
