Anyone play HoN anymore?

Well? I am not about to shell out $30 for this game.

It's arguably the best fucking ripoff of dota ever. The game is great. They've added heroes from what I've seen since the free version stopped... how many though, that's what I wonder. If there's like 20 new ones, mmm looks good. If only like 5 new ones, meh...

Lots of new heroes would be great. They're still lagging behind on the heroes from the original dota I bet.

I play the other one instead since its free, but I heard this has a much better community. I have no gripes (really comes down being free for the other one) about the game really in terms of gameplay. My only complaint would be that it is a pretty dark map and I prefer something with more contrast. But honestly I never played it long enough to give it a shot, and it just might be my LCDs kicking the bucket (one is 7 years old, the other is probably 5-6 years old. The 7 year old one, if you pay attention, has this visible white noise all over the screen).

I heard though that everyone just plays the original Dota heroes lol.

Well, LoL has a 62 page thread that's contantly going strong and HoN has like a 3 page one a few months. Also, the people that taut HoN on these boards didn't really leave me with a good impression of community.

It's a competitive community. You're in it to win, always.

LoL isn't too different, but I think it has more noobs. A lot of people who never played dota. HoN probably has far more dota people. It's just about identical to dota and the differences are not too hard to get used to.

I still play it, though not as much as I did in beta, I think I logged in over 400 hours in beta, not even close to that in release, probably because friends don't have it yet, though I'll probably play more due to having the trials out and convincing friends to buy the game.

I didn't even know about that HoN 2.0, I look forward to it!

i still play from time to time. kinda stopped playing regularly once i hit 1800 psr a while back.

honestly, i'm excited for the upcoming patch what with team matchmaking FINALLY being introduced, but i dunno if it's enough to make me play regularly anymore.

though my friends have been asking me to come back and carry them to victory in DRD's 3v3 tourny so we'll see, i'll probably come back for that

I tried to play during beta, but I had no DotA experience. Therefore even in newb games I was berated for not knowing what to do. I gave up as I'm not going to play a game where newbs are driven away (and therefore the player base wont expand).

Ugh. Game is annoying. I'm below 1500PSR now. I've been getting the WORST teams.

What happens is this almost every game: If I lane with someone I get raped because we go for gank and they RUN away right as we gank OR they aim for BOTH guys at the same time instead of one at a time (the right way). Then our lane will get fed and it's gg. OR I am solo mid, I do fine. Everyone else gets raped. Or we do fine in our lane but some other lane just gets raped.

Every fucking time it's some jackass who fucks it up. As soon as one guy feeds a few kills, it's over for me. People realize I am capable of raging on them and AIM the FUCK out of me. Then I'll be 0-10 even if I have 522ms, nullstone, magic invul, shroud, and blink. They'll just fuck me over every time.
