I started playing due to the PAX offer, I am enjoying it quite a bit atm. Playing on Brandywine and there are always a lot of people around pretty much everywhere I go, it is nice that it isn't dead. So far been playing a Minstrel and just hit 27, I'm enjoying the class so far, having to figure out all the ballads and best way of weaving things, very bursty class with DPS, sometimes fights are decent passed, other times I drop the mob in a few seconds lol.

I started Playing a Burglar and weaponsmith as a craft. I fine it very hard to find any tin in the game. This makes lving up the skill very hard. I don't even seen tin in the auction house much and when I do it it way overpriced.

If this is your 1st character I would recommend going as an explorer for your crafting and then selling off all the ores and resources you collect on the auction house. You can easily make enough gold to buy what you need.

Kinda takes the fun out of it If i have to farm to buy things. What makes The Warden class so hard to play I would think being abel to heal and wear somthing ather than cloth would make them easy to solo. if that is true i may pick it over the hunter because there seems to be so many of them

This thread inspired me to reactivate my account, bought the game at launch and quit within a month or 2, not sure why and I never did get above level 11,

have they improved the look of the game much since launch? it looks beautiful I have to say, I dont remember it looking so nice, of course it may be the DX10 stuff they put in later not sure, enjoying it so far

No need to farm anything if you don't want to, during the course of questing you can amass more than enough to get you through the game.

Even if you are a mediocre warden you can easily solo most things pretty easy. Warden is a harder class to play in a group due to mechanic of the gambit system and the nature of the class. Unlike the other tank class, the guardians, the wardens don't have heavy armor and they lack the "panic" buttons the guardians have. Most people pick guardians since a mediocre guardian can still be useful in a grp, a mediocre wardens are pretty useless.

A properly played warden is an amazing thing to watch. There is nothing like tanking 10+ on level enemies while healing your group. Oh, if you do pick a warden hopefully you are good at memorizing or you have a handy chart of gambits right next to your monitor.

As for graphics, turbine is planning to upgrade to DX11 sometime this summer. I have no idea how much that would improve the current assets.

They've made things "better" as they've added to the game, but other than when they worked on the dx10 system shortly after release most of the original game should look the same.

one thing I really liked was the fellowship maneuvers, even if taking on out of instance elites with a small group if you knew what you were doing you could really lay the smackdown getting your powers right. wouldn't mind seeing more games take this type of action for cooperative play.

For my mmo fix last night spent all of the time on lotro. Decided to finally start a rk and warden to get them through the intros and get the spring titles. The rk is a pretty good nuker. Though not sure about using all their spells as some seems just as good as others and just seem to give a different mole to whack. Also though the rune power thing would be more of an effect, but your rune level dies off so fast I could lose most of it when selecting from one mob that just died and starting on the next right away. Being able to plant a healing stone and then starting combat with a group is pretty nice though.

Warden is interesting too. A bit like a slightly weaker hunter with his javelin, with a decent tanking ability given the self he effects. Can't really comment on the gambit stuff yet though as at this point it's pretty weak overall.

Was nice being a long time member and finding a bag and a half of freebies ready to go when starting a new char. Not sure what gave the purp cape (design isn't as great as the others, but it covers head also and has some pretty sweet stats) but it's a nice wear at start, just too bad I couldn't use either of the mounts they had in their bags yet.

I really enjoy LOTRO and have played since day 1, I tend to solo 75% of the time and am a moderate (3-6 Hrs per Week) player. Turbine really cares about this game and IMO it shows, excellent story elements and graphics. I have a 63 Champion and a 30 Rune Keeper, really liking the RK

Definitely worth a try IMHO

The only negative I have for lotro is the char models. Everything else looks great you'd think they could update that =P

haha, I was talking to my friend the other day and telling him how I started up LOTRO. He asked me how the game looked, I told him the landscapes and environments are beautiful, and then I said, oddly enough the worse looking thing in the game is the players characters and they stand out against those environments sorely.

While trying to research why one of my chars quest log went blank from "versioning" I found that the dx10 material was added with book 11. So about 10 months or so after release is why you don't remember it if you just played around launch.

Turbine is also adding dx11 to lotro in the near future. (which could mean any time really but at least it is coming) dx10 shadows are awesome in the game.

I just reactivated last night -- haven't played since last June. I only played for an hour or so, so hopefully I'll get some time to play this weekend.

One thing I have noticed, and I read this on another forum as well -- the game does seem jerkier than it was last year. I haven't changed any settings, so I'm wondering if an update caused it.
