Did a quick google search and didn't see anything, and nothing on the forums either. Has anyone seen any benchmarks for it (other than the ones from a while ago)?
Our performance testing shows no two benchmark runs are identical in exterior scenes, due to Oblivion randomly placing grass and rocks, changing the amount of grass, and varying other aspects of the terrain.
From the sounds of the engine it appears that Kyle's framerate charts are going to be the best way to get a general idea of what performance is like. You can't do a direct comparison, but at least we should be able to get a general idea.
I've always been a fan of HardOCP's way of benchmarking games. Gives you a great idea of what type of frame rates you'll run into rather than just an average. The only flaw is that no two runs using real gameplay will be exactly identicle so while running standard benchmarking has it's place, I also think that real world gameplay benchmarking has it's place as well.
And, yeah, Brandon at FS is claiming 5-10% variance in outdoor areas b/c of the aforementioned random placement, in which case it might be time for some new graphing methods.
