Another vote for the smokey moutain. I've had many smokers and nothing holds a temp or is as easy as it.

i have a smoker and smoked a briscuit yesterday. I was in Houston and flew back late Sunday so i asked her to go to the store and get a nice briscuit.

Lesson #1: Dont have wife pick out briscuit. she came home with two corned beef briscuit....

i asked her umm baby? this is the wrong kind and why did you get two? she replied that it says briscuit on the package and she got two because they are small.

well no chance in getting another and each one was 9 bucks so i smoked them.

lesson #2
: dont smoke corned beef.

here is my grill

http://www.chargriller.com/grills.html

the link to the grill doesnt work so look at the pic in the top center.

Smoked corned beef is actually pretty common. I should try making one.

EDIT: I just realized that smoked corned beef is pastrami...

Traeger FTW! works as both a grill and a smoker.

Uhhh, my Weber Smokey Mountain cost $169 w/ free shipping. The cheapest I see there is $800.

I could by a Smokey Moutain, a Weber Kettle Grill, and a decent propane grill (quick chicken, dog, and burger grilling) for the same price as one of those.

Wow. So it has a gas grill, a charcoal grill, a gas burning plate, and a smoke box that you can fire up on demand if you want to smoke?

That sounds pretty slick. How long is that thing? Hard to get a perspective from the pictures. Also - does the smokebox work on the charcoal only, or can you fire it up for the gas side too?

It's looooong, 7 feet, if I had to guess.

The chambers don't connect, but the guy in that post mentioned wanting to combine them and it doesn't seem like too big of a deal to do so. I'm impressed with the build quality for the price, considering the Charbroil smoker I had previously has a POS for 2/3 the price with no propane option.

I love the side burner for starting my charcoal, though. Now it only take about 10 minutes to get them glowing red and ready to be placed.
