Anyone sticking to current gen systems for a while?

I've had one heck of a day today. My friend and I both traded our 360's in at gamestop today and both got 250gb ps3's and the last of us. Psn+ had some awesome stuff on it for this month too. The look on his face when he saw uncharted 3, lbp karting, saints row the third and Joe danger 2 on there for free was priceless. He's had a 360 since launch so getting free good games was a big shock to him.

I'm not even considering a ps4 until after this time next year. Between all the free games I get from now till then on psn+, gta 5, madden and cod ghosts ill be set for a while, oh btw the last of us is amazing

That would be assuming people had time to play them in the first place. I really have no interest in playing any games more than once.

I'm still going to play both my 360 and PS3. My gaming desktop is pretty damn old at this point so I'm waiting for the right moment to build a new one.

I still have quite a backlog on the 360. As for the PS3, I mainly use it as a blu-ray player and borrow/rent exclusives for it. I imagine I'll still be doing that. They won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Really? I wouldn't be so sure. Kojima already said hes interested in getting it on PC. Metal Gear Rising is already coming to PC. With the new console architecture, porting isn't nearly as much of a pain.

As far as FFXV goes, read the following quote

So I think it is a bit premature to say that you can guarantee none of those games will come to PC. Still, I am not closed to getting a PS4. I am watching the library, and once if it gets some games I want, then I'll pick it up.

The WiiU is getting mario kart, pikmin, wonderful 101, bayonetta 2, Mario 3d world, and smash bros. That's it The other games are gonna be on every system and PC. That's not a bunch of games and it's not even really a bunch of good games.

That is it just for the next year (although you missed some, like Donkey Kong Country). Beyond that will be Zelda, Mario, and other great FP titles and not-FP titles (like project X). Not to mention NSMBU+Luigi Campaign. I think 10+ titles are enough to warrant getting a system. Hell, I had less for my 360. Plus, the Wii U is unrivaled in terms of couch co-op. I have my PC for singleplayer games and online-multiplayer games, and my Wii U will for couch co-op.

Few games on either system interest me, however there are more on the Xbox that do, but no, not going there. Considering I can't keep up with the games I have as it is, there is no rush.

Real gamers DO go back and play their back catalog of games on systems they never go to. If you think otherwise your first system was last gen or you aren't a real gamer.

Sure, go back and play them, but saying you spend time equally on all systems? That is dumb.

Kojima aside, Sony has continued to show no interest in putting their exclusives on PC, so you would be missing out on some really good titles that way. With that being said, I have always said that your life is no less complete just because you don't play some exclusives. People just need to get the system that works for their needs and be happy with the games they get to play.

I played Uncharted 3, I know it sucked. It got amazing reviews because Sony and Naughty Dog spend millions advertising with the companies who publish the reviews. The online was terrible, the single player was ok but more of the same basically, yeah I can see why you think it is so great.

Ratchet and Clank is a joke, it's a game for 7 year olds. It's funny that the same people who used to run around calling the Gamecube a kids' console now play these kids games and espouse their virtues.

As for Furbyeast, it's kind of ironic to be called a troll by the King Troll of this forum. I guess I should thank him, or just point out to anyone looking for an honest view of the current generation to read my previous posts.

We can also stop with the ridiculous online/versus achievements in single player games too. Why do I need to kill 1000 players in a row without dying in fucking Resident Evil 5 for example in order to have a complete save file!!!

Metal gear rising is not made by konami and team. That makes a difference in platform choice

Somewhere in these threads I listed the games I played in the last year. They were all over the place. The only consistent PC game I play is LoL. Otherwise, I probably play various consoles as much as PC (and I don't own a 360 or PS3).

I'm not burying my head at all, I just asked for you to provide any evidence to back up your claims. No game is perfect, and I also didn't love the uncharted games purely because of the controls. I am only 2 hours into the last of us and have had a few questionable AI stuff happen, like my companions running in front of guards who have no idea they are there while I sneak up on them. In my mind, it doesn't deserve a 10 because of this. But that still doesn't prove your point.

Several game journalists have commented about it and gotten outcast and tons of negative feedback from the rest of the gaming journalism world who wants to maintan the status quo.

I think the last of us was will be the last game I get for ps3. Then again gta v is coming out too. I think I will want to play that. If it comes out for pc I may get it for that.

I have a ps4 on order and I will most likely keep the ps3 unless I finish the 8 games I have left. Most likely I won't because I've lost some interest in them. Maybe I will sell the ps3, I'm unsure but as of now I will stick with it. I only have one tv in my apartment so essentially the ps3 will get stored away.
