No. You need to watch MSNBC. Lately Mathews has been unhinged and Shultz is batsh!t crazy.
I believe you. But I don't consider MSNBC to be a news source, just as I don't consider Fox to be a news source.
I don't see people on the left put forth MSNBC as being "fair and balanced". I
do see people on the right saying this about Fox.
So your comparison is not persuasive.
If MSNBC is there to present only one side why can't a channel who gives both sides be "Balanced"?
Fox doesn't give "both sides". And everyone knows it -- including them.
I have a feeling some of you want "Fair & Balanced" to mean they take no sides. IMO, that's obviously incorrect because Fox runs many Op/Ed type shows. You cannot have an Op/Ed without having an opinion/taking sides. You can, however, present both sides with guests representing both positions.
"Fair and balanced" would, at a start mean these two things:
1. A specific effort to separate commentary from news reporting, and an effort to report the news objectively. FNC does not do this.
2. Op/Ed shows from both sides. FNC does not do this.
3. Fair treatment and equal airtime for guests with opposing viewpoints. FNC does not do this.
