One word: 2500K.
Oh please. 2500K is Obsolete and has been replaced ()
Don't even jest. Intel could really EOL it and then we'd be up a creek.
Obsolete? Wouldn't say so. You're just jealous that you made a silly mistake and bought a hotter CPU for nothing so you want others to share your grief
JK, Sandy & Ivy 4 life. Also, I'm not advising anyone here to buy Sandy, but for Sandy users, it is a bad decision to "upgrade" to Ivy.
Don't you already have an IVB discussion thread open?
I don't think it would be a smart decision to EOL Sandy in such a short time. Better make it dirt cheap and market it as "mainstream" compared to Ivy should some users still consider it. But yeah, no need to keep an old product, better just make lower-end new products for completing your arsenal.

Here is my 24/7 setup
it will do 5.1 avx at 1.515 volts and benches at 5400 with 1.6 volts
His GFLOPS seem low, I was getting 130+ at 5GHz.
Oh, right... HT.. LoL.
Even on high end air, Ivy is too hot. Even good water cooling is only so much better than high end air.I wouldn't say that, I think people with good cooling will do really well with IB.
