Considering if getting a Tivo is worth it compared to my solution right now (Directv). We just recently bumped our Directv package down to the family plan (pretty much locals, kids and food channels) for budget reasons. It went from almost $100/month down to around $50/month. I've primarily kept it for the DVR aspect because we love to be able to record and watch later. We do watch some HGTV/Food networks, but primarily the locals, which Tivo could provide us OTA.
Anyone using just a Tivo? We also have a Netflix account, which I believe would be available through the Tivo interface. I really don't want to screw around with a HTPC and want something that just works and fits inside my entertainment cabinet and doesn't look ugly.
A while ago I think I kept hearing about Tivo going under, etc... are they still coming out with new products and features or are they stagnant?
