Anyone still playing Far Cry?

In case anyone missed it, here's the thread with a gameplay video of their new project, Crysis. All I can say is ... :shocked: Get the higher res version if you have a decent connection.

I didn't really notice what improved did... The changes were subtle (to me).

The main things I've noticed so far: it flattens the colour range a bit, it makes textures (especially rock/stone) look more defined and it also adds bloom effects to lighting.

i played on the 2nd hardest (whatever is below realistic)... the game was short, which makes me sad cause i enjoyed it. at the end though, it just kept dragging on and on and on

on the plus side - gorgeus scenery, good AI tactics (even though it was annoying as hell), weapons that sounded like they could kill stuff, the SAW

didn't really care for it. same with hl2 which everyone seems to love also. i don't see whats so great about them.

short? it seemed to be one of the longer FPS's I can remember for awhile. Games like Max Payne lasted me less then 10 hours, didn't time Far Cry but I musta gotten 18'ish hours out of it. Nowhere near what an RPG would have done. but next to SOF II, Far Cry was about the longest FPS I've played. Red Faction was the shortest

<---- proud owner of SOF II. probably the best FPS in terms of single and multiplayer experience. right now online play doesnt work so well cause of college firewall properties, but once i move out, i'm definitely gonna play again

IIRC I purchased this game, sold when I was done -> picked it up again because I missed it, sold it a 2nd time -> got it a 3rd time, and now I'm almost done with the 3rd time through. Man, I have to play some of those Matto Mods.

So where is the latest Far Cry coop mod that works?

Just finished playing it for the first time.
I liked the game alot but I liked Serious Sam 2 better....better than Quake 4 though.

What I dislike about it:
1) No auto save. Its the stupidiest thing in the world especially when you can get killed with full heatlh and armour in about 2-4 shots.
I can see with games like Doom and Quake without auto save because you can take alot of hits. Anyway, I had to type in the auto save so it wasn't too bad.
2) Cheap@ss shots when you are so far away, especially at the end with those jumping apes.....
Serious, theres no logic with that.
How the fvck do they jump around and shoot you that good.
Even snifler didn't hit you that good.
