So when any smoker tells you to F-off, or it is not any of their business, look them in the face and tell smokey it damn well is your business. Then, slap that i love you out of their mouth.

When you see a statement like this on the Internet you know with absolute certainty that the last thing the writer slapped was his sister, and it got him a timeout.

Smoking is so yesterday.
When smoking bans were introduced in restaurants and bars, the owners bitched about losing business to the point they would have to close. Well, it didn't happen.
Maybe a very short-term effect, but we discovered people go to restaurants to eat, not smoke.
And we discovered people go to bars to drink and socialize, not smoke.
So both bars and restaurants survived.
In fact, today they flourish.
So it just goes to show you the nonsense created around smoking bans was all bunk.

Plus, the smart people have switched to those electronic cigs.
Not only are they safer, but can actually lead to not smoking all together.

It is so typical for smokers to tell people to F-off and mind their own business.
But smoking does effect everybody.
When the smoker has their heart attack, everyone else at the company must work extra hours to fill in while moron is in the ER recovering.
THAT is one effect from smoking that involves everyone.

What gets me is after that heart attack, they go right back to smoking.
Now THAT is really insane.
And just goes to prove that tobacco should not only be illegal, tobacco is just as addictive as doing hard drugs. And just as dangerous to the health.

What gets me is all this argument over legalizing pot.
Smoking is far worse than pot.
Tobacco kills. Pot? I never heard of anyone getting cancer or death from a joint.
Im not talking synthetic pot.
Im talking pot grown in grandma's back yard.
Plus, the revenue for states from legalized pot. The end of drug wars from importing pot. And a much more mellowed out society.

But smoking? Now THAT should be treated like cocaine addiction and tobacco treated like doing hard drugs. We have so much evidence that tobacco kills. If not sooner, surely later.

And when a smoker tells the non smoker to mind their own business, well, giving up my 3 week vacation to fill in for smokey the bear recovering in the ER from his heart attack definitely does effect me, and does give me the right to tell the smoker to their face that their smoking business IS my business, and they had better knock that shit off.

So when any smoker tells you to F-off, or it is not any of their business, look them in the face and tell smokey it damn well is your business.

Except one is proven to cause cancer while the other is not...

Wow! 160 posts and all in the same thread! I'm not older than dirt ... but we're friends.

I remember the first time I saw or heard of a "no smoking" sign anywhere except a oxygen tent, local buses, or a chocolate factory. That was 1976. Up until that time everyone smoked in hospitals, homes, businesses, aircraft, cabs, and just about everywhere else without having a problem.

Since then "they" have proven that coffee, bacon, eggs, milk meat, and just about every food and activity known to man will give you cancer. Sometimes they might be right.

Try moderation. If someone smokes on the street just walk by and don't be so scared ... you're going to die anyway. I go out to talk to the smokers because they are the interesting people.

So do you really believe those things cause cancer at the same rate that smoking cigarettes does?

It's difficult to explain the depth of nicotine's addiction, yes, plenty of people have quit but even here in this thread more than one has confessed, "I still crave a cig", even after years of not smoking. I have reached about 65% of my smoking to E-cigs, I hope to be able to reach 100% eventually. Where your spiel fails badly is smoking is far from the only activity that is knowingly harmful yet people still do engage in. By your logic if you spot someone eating a Wendy's triple with bacon you should grab that burger and toss it in the trash. Since that person may one day have a heart attack due to poor dietary choices you might miss your vacation again. Lets not forget alcohol, damm, those idiots drink too much and call in or reach full-blown alcoholism and need to go to rehab, shit, now I've got to cover for his/her time away from work. See where you logic fails?, it's pretty clear..

Both my mother and aunt smoked and had strokes. My aunt will never walk again under her own power but lucky to be alive. To be fair, they also suffer(ed) from obesity and diabetes. So smoking definitely didn't help their cause.

My third aunt also smokes and she has about 20% lung capacity left with a small chance of living in the next 5 years at age 49.

Health related risks aside, I quit when I was 23 years old because I wanted to be active and social.
