Anyone still with a trusty dumbphone/going lower tech?

I always found it odd that smart phones don't have am/fm radio, is it just too hard to pack in there with all the other sensors and stuff?

My ancient Nokia 6610 used to have stereo FM! :\

The functionality just tends to be disabled because no ones gives a damn.

My S5 has fm radio. I don't use radio much, but I like having it.

I need my smartphone for work. I really like having data available just about everywhere. The phone I need for clients, but I otherwise don't use the phone. If not for work, I probably wouldn't have a phone at all. I say probably because I've gotten used to having a data enabled computer in my pocket. Too bad mobile O/Ss suck though :^/

I've had an LG flip phone Tracfone for about 3-4 years now. $20/90 days of service. It's only turned on for maybe 2 hrs/day.

I "need" a smart phone. I make about 10-15 minutes of calls/month. My phone is a mobile computer; surf the net, gps, camera, a few apps (not many, but those I have I use all the time).

Going back to not being able to google anything at any time would be difficult, and frankly stupid at this point.

I've been thinking about going back. Just leave my current smart phone in the car to pick up my podcasts when in the garage and to use when I'm at the gym. Then a flip phone as my standard carry.

Checking in: I've got a basic LG phone through Tracfone.
It flips open, it makes phone calls, it has something that could possibly be called a camera, it works as an alarm clock, and it's got adequate battery life.

Try going without it sometime, it's actually very nice. My girlfriend and I while traveling for a few weeks with no data plan found that we made much more of an effort to discuss and figure out how things work or why things are without immediately looking it up and having something or someone tell us the answer. We made mental lists of things to look up and read about later and see if we were correct.

I used a phone like that up until a couple of years ago. 2128i, not a true Shorty, but it did last two or three weeks on a charge.

I changed when I lost my grandfathered low-cost plan with Verizon and found myself paying $50/month for just voice, not even texting and no Internet.
