Why do you take them? (What condition/symptoms) How do they make you feel? How old are you?

Have you seen a doctor about it? I am severely out of shape (but not fat) and have had a cardiologist tell me I should take some. (I am 23)

I take atenolol daily for high blood pressure. No noticeable difference usually, but they do have some potential side effects to watch for.

I take atenolol, lisinopril and warfarin daily since I had a synthetic aortic valve replacement 6 years ago (I'm 35 now).

I take propranolol everyday to reduce headaches and migraines...just seems to make you slow down a little, heart, thoughts, everything...but nothing too extreme

I use beta blockers to protect me from that particular type of fish, the carniverous beta.

When I started using beta-blockers, I found I could no longer install anything from EA Games

I take Inderall daily. My hands shake a lot. I spoke with a doctor, because I jokingly mentioned that it was Parkinson's and I realized that I didn't exactly know that it WASN'T. In any case, the doctor advised there were different types of shakes. 1 is caused by Parkinson's. Another is the type of shake where you can't control it (and when you think about stopping your hands from shaking, the shaking gets worse.) (I'm not talking freaky shakes or anything, really--just if I hold my hand out like one would to show someone else they are nervous, my hands shake a bit. The more I try to control it, the worse it gets.

Anyway, the doc prescribed inderall because he said it would help. It definitely did. I still shake a bit, but nothing real noticeable any more.

BTW...I'm 34.

What would you be taking beta blockers for OP?

They arent something to mess around with, once you start them on a daily regimen its something you'll probably be on for life.

About 6 or 7 years ago when I had hyperthyroidism. For a short while. Don't think it made me feel anything but normal. I think it was beta blockers... some kind of blocker. Something for my heart. Am now 25.

I've taken Inderal before. It works but it's dangerous. I think they've even taken it off the market before because people were dying of heart attacks. However the side effects I had were it just made me feel weak and achey. Also for some reason it made it extremely easy for me to pull a muscle. I guess it weakens the muscle tissue also. I dunno for sure but it was why I stopped taking it.

That said, it really really helped my high blood pressure and migranes and it does have a calming effect.
