Seems that monarch does everything manual

I don't think they can keep up with Newegg's automated machines (in anandtech/newegg's review)

i ordered a C2D E6400 from them last Monday, and got it on Thursday. They even changed the shipping to fedex 2-way from ground. This is my recent experience and it's kinda surprising for me too, since i have really bad experience with them during the opteron era. So far i have bought probably about 10 times from monarch, some good some bad. I guess it's just a matter of luck about how your order is to be handled (i agree their system is mostly manual). It really didn't bother me much , and definitely not stopping me from buying from them again, since I live in California and monarch seriously is one of those no-tax and lower than avg price shops online. Just make sure you don't get expedite shipping from them just in case they delay the order and you end up bashing your head on the keyboard. If something crops up more than a couple of weeks, just call my AMEX.

Of cause it differ for everyone, I'm just patience.

I ordered a motherboard and cpu combo from monarch one time. I will never order again. This was for an opteron 170 combo. It took 3.5 weeks to recieve my combo. Totally unacceptable.

The problem with Monarch is refunds. If you have every had to return anything, or have tried to cancel and order, you will know this.

THEY DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS. I waited for 3 months and called SO MANY times but never got my refund for something that was never shipped out (I cancelled the order a day after placing it).

I eventually had to call my credit card company and do a chargeback.

This seems to be the main issue with them. A LOT of people have gone through exactly what I have. Don't take a chance with them. They are the anti-newegg.

lol. This is about a company that is stealing (or close to it) people's money. Making an internet store instead of a retail store isn't reason to not do refunds.......... Don't post if you have nothing to contribute.
As for me, I have never had problems with Monarch, but my last build was about 2 years ago, so maybe things have changed.

Refunding is their problem. I've canceled part of order for a computer build 2 month ago and I have yet to receive my refund. Everytime I call, they will transfer me to their accounting department, which is always a voicemail. After reading this thread I am going to call my credit card company. I ordered a few times from them before and things were ok, but after this experience, I will not order from them anymore.

as i said... its easier to get in a managers face at a b&m store rather than flying across the country/continents. Companies of all the like have been doing this for as long as I can remember. I have never had problems with monarch either. It goes both ways...

If you ever been with any type of retail or business in general, there quite a few people trying to scam/abuse company policies as the company is trying to make profit from the customers.

I mean places such as these forums when one person posts a "how to win the refund/RMA game" everyone and their 3rd cousin jumps on it, counting non-members who also read the forum. It may just a re-vamping of policies and procedures.

Ive been on both sides customer and somewhat of a business consultant for several years. A company in no way will purposely give terrible service as it would mean the end of their business. Besides its start of 4th quarter for business, they are all tightening their belts.

As you can see there is already more than 1,000 "targeted" individuals that will most likely not choose monarch for their next purchase.

Is that a better contribution?

No offense meant. I thought you didn't get why someone would start a thread about something like this. But I see where you're coming from, anything posted on this site has a direct impact on the sales of any number of companies. While it is good to know if a company will rip you off, that still may be just an individual thing, not the general way of business.

I've ordered from them several times, including twice in the past 3 months. One of those recent experiences was o.k., but the other took 4 or 5 days to ship (and it was just a video card). My guess is their popularity was their un-doing -- their system isn't able to reliably handle all the orders they receive. I've never had to deal with returns, but I don't intend to buy there in the future.

Last order from them was long delayed. I ordered a mb/cpu combo. Waited a week and called. They said the tech couldn't get the combo to post, he was still working on it. I requested the tech go to the warehouse and get some new parts for me, and troubleshoot the others at his liesure. This was a build for a friend whose rig had failed, so the long delay was a major pain.

My last order was 8mo ago when I purchased an Opteron 170, I called within a few minutes to cancel the order. I was told it was canceled and would not ship, I even called them later in the day to insure it was canceled. Then they emailed me asking if I wanted it canceled if no reply they would ship it anyway, huh WTF......guess what they shipped it anyway and billed my CC

No easy returns with them, as stated by everyone else...no more orders from me....and I hope they get delat with harshly

It took them three weeks from the time I cancelled my order and numerous phone calls to get them to refund my order. After I got the refund, I left my RR review. Only then did they try to contact me religiously.

B&M or not, three weeks for a refund is bullsh!t.

I had the same exact issue, I may head straight to my CC company as well.

why do people always defend the retailer in the face of some many examples of poor CS...you buy from them...its your money

They will get no more of mine

That is exactly the reason. They got too big too fast, and their inventory system is NOT real time.

I've bought twice from Monarch. Good deals both times, and no problems with the orders, for what it's worth...

Try 3 1/2 months:|

I used a store credit towards the purchase of an Opteron back in Dec '05. I was charged full price at the time and told that the credit would be applied to my credit card. So I waited and waited and WAITED!!!

I emailed them several times to which they never responded. Finally, after three and half months, the credit showed up on my statement.

Unacceptable.

My experience with Monarch were mixed. I oldered a combo set for my bro's computer and it came without a problem. The problem is when I try to cancel an order, everytime I called in a diff CSR will answer, the person who answer the phone gives a different answer and can't tell me what is going on. One lady really tried to help but she was having hard time getting things done due to lack of record and was not able to find out the status on the cancel order. Refund took them more then 1 month and several phone calls and email.
