Wife and I are on the first week of this. She's been through P90X 2 years ago, and I've been through P90X 2 years ago a round of insanity and a rounf of insanity /p90x hybrid last year. I went from 5'8 180 down to 160 with P90X size 34 down to 32 and after finishing insanity last year i fluctuate around 170 still at size 32. I feel that doing these workouts really made me look much better and feel much healthier.

I really love how T25's only 25 minutes, but not sure if it's as "good" as insanity as far as getting results. We don't eat squeaky clean, but eat generally healthy. its usually the drinking w/ friends that is the worst vice i guess and probably explains why I look very healthy but not totally ripped /jacked like some of the crazy result pictures.

I usually don't have a problem sticking w/ the routine, but my wife has a busier schedule than me and had trouble doing more rounds of insanity /p90x due to the time sink. My problem is i travel a decent amount and have to do modifications in my hotel room and will have to skip a few days.

Whats everyone's experience with T25 so far?

Its weaker then insanity. Insanity is nuts. However, my knee's cannot finish insanity. I can do the first half, and then go into round 2, and they die.

T25 I did with very little modifications. (skipped burrpies the first few times and then gradually added them in).

Finished T25 + the delta. Didn't lose any weight, but didn't gain any either, and I was eating terribly at the time plus, doing strength/building work outs.

Currenty I'm doing Metrx 180, and add in the t25 workouts before for cardio. 25 mins cardio + ~40 mins with free weight = awesome feeling.

going 25mins straight with no breaks is rough, took me a while to get used it,

Depends on your fitness level. If you can already do Insanity or P90X level work outs, its a step down, though some might want to gain some of their time back as both those mentioned programs are much longer, especially if you follow P90X's calendar. If you use it to supplement lifting weights its perfect.

With that said if you are trying to lose weight, T25 plus a low calorie diet can do wonders.

If you are trying to lose weight, just a low calorie die is all you really need. The idea people get is "oh, if I just spend x number of minutes a day, I can lose weight" is kind of stupid. Even doing the "higher" level programs like Insanity and P90X, you're not going to outwork a bad diet.

These programs help you actually get into better shape cardio wise, which is a good thing, but for weight loss, I'd go with the tried and true calories in < calories out method.

I haven't done T25, but I've skimmed through the videos and it looks a lot like Insanity, which killed my knees.

T25 introduces a "modifier" (Tonya from Insanity) who never leaves the floor. Go hard on what doesn't hurt, back off on when doesn't feel right.

I agree with you there smackababy calories in needs to be less than calories out to lose weight. You could eat 3000 calories worth of broccoli for example and you won't lose any weight. The thing about "real" foods is that you get sick of them pretty quickly. For example you can eat a single banana and think its pretty good, go for two and you could probably get it down but not really enjoy it, try a third banana is going to be hell! Processed stuff on the other hand is engineered for you to not ever get that feeling.

agree with what everyone said. Smackababy - T25 can be modified far easier for less knee impact.

I was never able to finish insanisty. but I was able to completely all of t25 (I also did the delta ) And by the end was able to do all the moves. I was able to build up to all the moves.

Its a really good cardio work out in 25 mins.

Michael do you mean the Gamma phase? I don't think Delta phase has been released yet.

sorry, yes, I meant Gamma.

I did all three phases.

If you are just going for cardio, Gamma is not the best. If you want a light strength work out, it works.

I've been thinking about giving this a try when I hit my plateau again, which should be in about 10 or 15 lbs (that's where my plateau was last time). There's no way I would stick to the regular p90x/insanity. I wouldn't dedicate an hour + to any workout.

starting my third week. definitely easier than insanity while still getting a very good workout IMO. the best part is we are both busy as heck these two months yet we're still able to fit it in. I think that's the major appeal of T25, it's accessible to those with different fitness levels and quick to do for busy people, all without being a mickey mouse workout

I also like the fact they have modifiers. It let me build up to all the moves. One of the gamma disk if I remember correctly doesn't have tina modifying but by that point, you should have an idea of all the modifiers.

I tried it and couldn't go it. It wasn't that it was to hard, I just am not coordinated enough for it. First day was fine but Speed 1.0 just wasn't happening.

I'm doing Chalean Exteme now. I like that it uses weights more. I paid a pretty price for these Bowflex dumbbells and want to use them. The program has two off days (tues and sun) and am going to use the cardio 1 of T25 on Tuesday. Works well with schedule of every other weekend being a three day 12 hour bender, need that Sunday off.

I know not everyone can afford or has the room for it, but I can get all the workout I need in 25 minutes on my C2 than I could using T25 and not have to do it in front of a TV, which IMO is a MAJOR inconvenience. Especially when dropping a quart of sweat on the floor.

About the only time I'd consider using a machine for cardio at home is if I'm camped in front of a screen and watching something. I would find it too boring repeating the same motion over and over again if I just had to stare at a wall. Not trying to put down machine workout as there's a place for them, if you normally watch a lot of TV, put something in your living room which allows you to move a while watching it. Machines are perfect for that.

What I like about video workouts is there's a ton of variety in the program so you do a bunch of different movements, it's not the same one over and over like you get with a machine. There's also get the simulated social aspect of working out with them. You have someone encouraging you to go harder and if you've ever done a group workout before, you know you get motivated to go harder based on seeing others busting their ass, it's like competing. This actually makes a difference as while I could have a workout memorized from repeating it a bunch of times, it's more fun doing it along with the video.

When I do video workouts, I actually do them in my garage, videos play on my tablet, so you aren't limited to doing them in front of TV if you know how rip videos.

Anyways I'd give any of them a try if you are looking to add some variety to your cardio. Too many people assume cardio just means buying a treadmill or other machine when really a DVD exercise set like this could do the job fine for much less money.

I've been watching some reviews and videos about T25 and it seems like a good workout program. I'm thinking of buying it here in the next few day from amazon. will see what results i get.

i've pretty much been doing T25 for the whole year. I feel like i'm in great shape, definitely developed a 4 pack and my lower body feels very strong from doing all of those squats. i'm doing gamma right now and it's focusing more on upper body. im in classes two nights a week though so i'm not following the schedule as strictly as i did with the alpha and beta rounds.

necro, just started this last week. currently halfway through week 2. i'm not out of shape but Shaun T sure makes me feel like it. going to be a tough 10 week program but excited to see results. the wife is doing it with me. i usually workout with kettle bells and will probably go back to them after the program but plan on using the total body workout segment for my weekly cardio.

$140 off of amazon but so far so good.

This was definitely out of left field lol.

Anyway to add onto this - the wife recently signed up for Beachbody On-Demand. Have been easing out of running half/full marathons and back into more compound/olympic weight lifting. Have been doing Insanity on my easy days along with a few light miles.

Love Insanity. They have a preview (one session) of T25 - to be honest, it's not as intense as Insanity is. Think it was Alpha? Definitely prefer T25 or even Insanity Max 30 - now that's a killer workout.

Yeah, Alpha is the first one. It's kicking my ass but in a good way. Wife and I are taking weekly pictures to compare once we're done, looking forward to the results. Don't have any body fat on me except a little belly but want to tone up and get my 6-pack back(or give a good attempt at it).

Turn 31 next month and man do I feel it after a 25-minute ass kicking session. Just really wanting to get ripped then will go back to K-bells/standard routine.
