mamisano,

Hi

I've read that with Athlon 64 processors, 4 sticks of ram have to be run at 2T. It's a limitation of the memory controller or something like that. I think 2 sticks can be run at 1T.

I am looking and building a cheap set up for a friend at work with this board. It will be a good start for him with all the new features. Can I use a standard atx power supply with this board or do I need a atx 2.0 with the 24pin plug and duel 12volt rails. Thanks in advance for any help.

it can use either a 20 pin with the 12 v p4 thing, or a 24 pin.

a great combo is to just get the monarch combo. this board is $89 there, $129 for athlon 64 3000 and i think they have some corsair 512mb x 2 for $89 also.

you even get free halflife 2, and farcry which you can actually play with the integrated video.

hi guy's,

looking for some infos about compatibility with heatsinks.

are these models compatible with the board :

-Thermalright XP-90
-Thermalright XP-120
-Zalman CNPS7700-Cu

I'am also wondering about compatibility with my existing raid0 array created with promise fasttrack chip. Will my raid0 config run on the ATI chip, or need to rebuild it ?

thanks !

In the user manual it shows the combinations for Ram: are they correct?
for DUAL Mode aren't they suppose to be in the same CHANNEL A (1 & 3) or B (2 & 4)?

ANy thoughts? Please!

?

no. you match the colors.

like the boards channels, are right next to each other. so like there are 4 rows. the first pair for dual channel is the first 2 rows, and the 2nd is the 2nd two rows.

so like row 1 & 2 is a pair , and row 3 & 4 . so if you have only 2 sticks fo ram, you stick them in 1 and 2

Thanks hans007.

Does anybody know if this MO board would fit in an ATX CASE? ANTEC 3000B?
Or it has to be .mATX

No worries, the case will have the proper mounts for your mATX board and it'll result in better air flow too

Yea, I got mine in a mid tower v770 case I had laying around since I haven't fully decided on a mATX case yet...mounts fine, runs cool.

Can anybody check and see if they can enable s-video output while the CRT is still active using the Xpress 200 chip?

Also looks like as if this shop is selling computers with the mb and XP-90:

What is the option? instructions for this? Last time I messed with the bios on this board, it gave me a screwed up monitor image. (it was when I enabled sideport, whatever that is)

you cant enable side port.

the onboard video has OPTIONAL like 32bit memory buffer. this board doesnt have it, i am not sure why its in there.

there is like... an option which is default to auto, for if the board will detect onboard svideo/rca AND crt.

i usually set it to CRT only (moot point since i have a real video card now) but you can set it to CRT+ TV or something like that. its in the same area as that sideport thing.

Ah, gotcha. And just fyi to all, if you do end up switching on sideport, you will have to reset your board. Leave the battery out for about 15 minutes or so. It took mine forever to reset.

I have set it to "auto" and I've set it to "Force CRT and Force TV" I still cannot get both at the same time. Same thing in Surround View with my X800 XL installed, every combination works "except" driving 2 analog displays with Xpress 200.

So, has anyone actually had both working at the same time? (TV out with either Composite or s-video) Clone mode...extended desktop, anything at all?

Couldn't you just use JCMOS1 to clear the CMOS data instead?

That would have been convenient if it actually worked for me.
