Anyone up for a SETI race?

I propose a race on SETI for TeAm members. I'm not sure how we should do it, but it should be winnable for many, not just myself as the current top cruncher.

What do you guys think?

(Doh! I've just seen that TE is still active in SETI ,I guess that includes you in some way, so I'd better let you off then heheh)

I'll be up for it for a while ,I haven't crunched SETI on my recently rebuilt rig yet ,would love to see what it can do
I would like to pass D1 in DPAD 1st though ,according to the free DC stats that should be in 9 days.

I'll look into how the stats would be collected but I won't be able to do them on a daily basis (RL stuff) ,of course if someone else wanst to do them then pipe up

I've never done a race before (but I did help out with one on Folding, which gave me this idea).

I think my 1st race was in early 2000 against a TA member called MisterM ,we raced to 500WUs in SETI IIRC ,many races followed that ..........ah they were the days............

Ah I get ya ,but I think the intention here was for races between TA SETI members.

Pitty that we can't race between different BOINC projects ,using some sort of corrector to make 1 point equal between all projects ,now that would be cool!

I think we should put this on hold for a couple weeks. The new client with a lower multiplier, coupled with the server issues, is really hurting production right now.

the new multibeam clients are giving less credit for non-multibeam workunits than the old non-multibeam work unit capable clients.

that, combined with SETI now only sending out 2 of each work unit, the new MB client will always get the claimed, lower credit

so, everyone needs to upgrade!

I am still a SETI regular but its recent server instability is driving me away. I just picked up R@H and I think I'll move more rigs to it in the future.
