I think snooze vs no snooze personalities would lead to divorce faster than would infidelity.

I use an alarm cat. Never fails, 5:30am

the cat in this house is 5:30, someone up there said 5:30, your cat is 5:30...

:hmm:

wtf is going on with the universal cat clock? should we all be concerned?

Our cats are bums. They get up when we get up and go back to bed when they see that there is food available. They don't actually eat early in the morning but they want to know that it is there.

set at 3:15 am.

That's brutal. I can't imagine getting up that early on a regular basis. The few times it was required (ex: trip where plane leaves at like 4 and have to be there early) I find it's easier to just stay up and take a nap after.

I find getting up at 6am for 7am shifts is hard enough. That's why I ask for more night shifts.

Cell. It goes on the charger on the night stand before I go to bed. Set it to alarms only and put it face down.

No, that's dangerously close to "I need a shovel and a 6ft-long section of soft dirt" territory.

I get a wakeup call from my VOIP company.

OK, I still use an alarm clock because a tiny phone would never do the job. But the VOIP company lets me setup various automated wake up calls.

What time does he go to bed though? Probably early, like 8 pm or so? If he stays up until like 11 or 12 then yeah, thats brutal.

Use a wind up alarm clock as back up for your battery alarm clock which is back up for your plug in alarm clock.

Alarm clock/radio. Set for 4:00PM in the afternoon ( work nights ).

No phones in the bedroom.

I've been using a basic clock radio for the past couple of months, and I'm much happier with it.

Reason I switched to a clock radio is primarily so that I could sleep with my cellphone not in my bedroom. Its not electromagnetic radiation that concerns me, it is actually that I found myself checking my phone in the middle of the night. I think it disrupts your sleep quite a lot to do so, partially because of the fact that cellphones emit light in the blue spectrum.

Because it is a clock radio, it wakes me up to whatever is on the radio instead of BAAH BAAH BAAH. It doesn't have settings for weekdays and weekends, but I really don't mind. It takes me 2 seconds to set the time before I go to bed.

Heh - my wife and I have that issue. I am a snoozer, she is not. To make matters worse I am a much heavier sleeper than she is so the alarm always wakes her up first - which she hates. I think the only reason our marriage has lasted is because she gets up before me so this is rarely an issue

My cell phones don't come into the bedroom. If someone really needs me, they can call the house phone and wake me up. Otherwise, it can wait.

Exactly the same here. I put my phone on the charger in the basement before I go to bed and don't look at it (or hear it) until I am leaving for work the next morning.

If I am on the road for work I use my phone as my alarm clock, but otherwise I still use a dedicated clock.

alarm clock.

i'm one of the few people in society now a days who isn't glued to their phone. when i get home, if i'm not doing development on iOS or using my HT, my phone is usually sitting on a table in my kitchen on vibrate until i need to text or call someone.

I think there's an alarm glitch with the latest beta version of iOS 9.3

Last night, I set a new alarm for 0830 and set it to play a particular song. It showed the correct song selected, but started previewing something else entirely (Alphaville "Forever Young" from my Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack). I have iTunes Match, so most of my music is in the cloud. A lot of tracks/albums were manually downloaded from iTM to my device, but it should also intelligently cache and should work like everything is on my device.

I don't normally have this, but I had a white noise app (Relax M) playing last night.

I woke up and was using my phone before the alarm went off. My phone froze for ~10 seconds. It was vibrating, but frozen on the web page I was looking at and eventually showed the Snooze/OK dialog after 10 seconds. I pressed Snooze, then killed the white noise app. The alarm activated again 9 minutes later and still only vibrated (no sound). I snoozed the alarm again and kept using my phone, this time with the ringer switch on. Still no sound when the alarm activated.

Could definitely screw someone up if they depend on the alarm to get up for work. I know it's beta software, but Apple has a history of glitches affecting the alarm.

I used to use my phone as my alarm, but since we had a newborn I've been using an old fitbit that was given to me a few years back. Silent, vibrating alarm on my wrist that wakes me up without bothering the wife.

why is it s hard to find a good alarm clock?

I ordered one that had a usb charger and could connect through bluetooth t play music from the speakers.

everything was fine except the bluetooth had an annoying static sound. I contacted the company and the one they tested there had a similar issue. going back to reviews on amazon there were lots of people with same complaint. so i returned that one.

no idea what to get next. might as well just get a very basic one but then all the reviews for basic ones are bad too or they don't have features I want, like the battery backup will keep the time but not the alarm.

The Chinese have gotten ahold of Bluetooth technology now and are throwing it in everything. About 6-7 years ago, circuits were a little higher quality in my opinion. Now, the Bluetooth receivers are so cheap, you don't know if they're quality or trash until you use them. I've got one Bluetooth radio that sits next to my bed...it works great, but in Bluetooth mode, when paired with my phone...the radio restarts constantly. It doesn't do this in FM mode or using the Aux input in the back.

A lot of hotel chains I've stayed in have bought the iHome brands. At least you know they have a lot of units out there these days if they have those contracts. The only annoyance there is I'm an android guy, so I don't like the 30pin or lightning docks.
