I've had it for 1-2 years now and it's been great at stopping calls after 1 ring. I've also contributed to reporting quite a few calls that got through during that time. But in the last 2 weeks, many calls (like more than half) have gotten through. Through FIOS phone line (I'm sure many of you don't have a landline but it's more cost efficient to have it with triple play).

Anyone with the same experience? I just got 2 separate calls in 5 minutes.

Wow, I should stop asking tech questions on a tech forum where people no longer use certain tech.

Been using it for less than 2 years, but haven't seen any change in number of calls that get through. We usually sit and wait for the 2nd ring to know it's a real call.

Works good IMO..

Nomorobo was good because it has an algorithm that figured from all the bad numbers what would be used as spoofed numbers and blocked them automatically. And it shares a database (the biggest benefit). This device looks like it just lets you locally block every new number and you have to be proactive. Getting non-repeated spoofed numbers all the time so something like this still means getting the rings and sometimes you're not even sure so you pick up anyway.

uhh..my "home" phone setup announces with a voice who is calling and you can permanently block anyone you like and the phone will tell them to go wank off...had this set for years and my last set also had this option... what would be the purpose?

Ahh, I see, guess it depends on how many a-holes over the years have sold your info, mine hardly ever rings from an unknown caller, there was one recently, blocked now, ironically it was my cable/internet provider trying to get me back using cable again, I cut the cord, never go back! I love my commercial free world, and no, I won't ask my Doctor if your newest pharmacy crap drug is right for me! I'm happy with the old ones I already get.

Ahh, another thing is I don't use the crap voicemail that comes with the phone service, I use the one built into my phone, not hearing the message as their leaving it defeats the whole purpose...screening my calls, even say it on my greeting, or sometimes the greeting will say "If you know the extension of the person you are calling, please enter it after the tone, otherwise please state the name of the person you are calling and you will be automatically forwarded to that persons extension...lol
Had a bill collector once that was a total f-tard, so for a few weeks I put the built in greeting to speak french, LMFAO! Had him paying these third party translators to try and leave messages for the crap he wanted to say, haha! Love it that a bottom feeder was finally having to eat crap! Also made one think the number had been disconnected just by typing it out on "Microsoft Anna" and using it as my greeting. I screen all calls though, even from the ones allowed to call, then you have the option to "not be there depending on what they want w/out having to "call" your voicemail...?! Crazy how they even got people started doing that...almost as big a scam as getting people to walk around typing all the crap they could say in 1/100th of the time it takes to type that crap out...whats next..morse code? lol

Thanks OP, I might give it a shot when it's available for Android
https://www.nomorobo.com/

For whatever reason we rarely ever receive SPAM calls on our Ooma VOIP line, cell phones are a different story.

You can still get it in the Play store for Android it's just in a beta state. I tried it for a few days but preferred Hiya a bit more so been using that the last 2 weeks instead. But Nomorobo also seemed quite nice.

Just signed up for the nomorobo android beta trial... but the only viable option really is to "block (send to voicemail)". Not good - retrieving voicemail is even more cumbersome. I don't believe the landline version of nomorobo does this when they block..?

I would try Hiya but...

I'm reading all over that Android 5.0+ removed the ability for apps to pick up and hang up (preventing them from leaving voicemail). Why????????
