It is big, fast, and an extremely solid device that is hampered (a little bit) by Windows Phone 8/8.1.

What else do you want to know?

Does it scale awkwardly with the huge screen? Like, I haven't seen any shots of the software keyboard. How is typing?

Um, how is it?

There's a few reviews out there, but I have used it a bit.

In a sense, you know what you're getting from the specs: it's fast and has a great camera, but it's also a 6-inch device running Windows Phone. If all those traits sound good to you, it's lovely -- but it won't satisfy everyone. Typing isn't an issue, I've found. If you're not attached to a carrier, the Lumia Icon for Verizon delivers the same performance with a more reasonable 5-inch screen.

If you can wait, the current rumors have a rough sequel to the Lumia 1020 (nicknamed McLaren) coming out around November.

The keyboard isn't sizeable as far as I can tell. At least I didn't see any options for it.

I have the 32gb AT&T version.

Not an app kind of guy so what I need is available.

Takes nice photos! Pretty much point and shoot.

The screen is amazing! Too me at least.

My main issue with the screen size is in some apps the text is so large it looks like "large print" book. Facebook for example looks ridiculous. I wish I could lower the font on a per app basis. With WP 8.1 they improved the size of the OS overall but a lot of apps still have abnormally large font.

Not bad indeed.

How is editing documents in Word? So fonts are weird? That kinda makes sense for windows, which doesn't seem to have good font scaling. Like, the Macbooks seem to have handled font scaling fine when they went retina.

So basically the characters are bigger? I have an older nokia device that I like to sometimes write on, thinking of picking the 1520 up for the larger screen.

Can it change the zoom?

I mean, on microsoft word can you scale the document so you see more of the document, taking advantage of the larger size and higher resolution, or will you basically have the same view, just larger, compared to other nokia phones?

I used one for 5 months and loved it. I'm a hardcore Excel user so it was very handy!
I did end up switching back to a smaller phone because I'm always carrying my tablet.

I'm thinking it would just be larger.

Without viewing the same document on a smaller nokia phone I wouldn't know for sure.

I recently picked up a lumia 920 after years with android (G1) . Mainly because I was bored. And I have to say I like it. And the camera Is great. I know its not the 1520 but in general WP8/8.1 is pretty good. And the Nokia apps are pretty killer, Here Maps+ is Like a real GPS Program. kills google maps and its free.

Yeah, I did a test on MS word on my 820. IT would just be larger. You can sorta adjust the font to make it smaller, but it doesn't work so well.

The Nokia1520 is a pretty large phone - that's really the only admonition that I would throw out there. You will like the battery life on the Nokia 1520. If your are not using it as your daily driver you can easily use it within 5 days on 1 charge....

Well that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Any phone you don't use on a regular basis will last longer. I have a L925 I get away with charging once a week.

I recently move from the Lumia 920 to the 1520. I was a bit concerned about the size at first, but now it feels totally normal to me and going back to the 920 feels like I don't know how I got by. I'm a little worried it's ruined me for future phones with smaller screens.

It is blazing fast and the battery life is quite frankly, astonishing. With normal use, I'm typically at 20% to 30%+ remaining after 48 hours since the last charge.

I'm on AT&T, however I picked up the 1520.3 variant from NewEgg because I wanted the wireless charging built in.
