Anyone use the Vista RTM?

the activation scheme for VLM is requiring more planning and discussion than we had to do with XP or course, so we are taking it slooooow

it technically is only released to businesses. once it gets on retail shelves, it'll be a bigger target.

I saw people running Office 2007 at school and it was this hot girl. I was like damn. Hot and you know how to pirate RTM Office 2k7, that's even hotter...

I had problems with it so I stopped using it and went back to XP MCE. I'll probably switch over in 2 years once I get some new hardware.

People talking about cracking Vista .... it's already been done via a fake liscense server of some sort.

We have it at work in a lab ... just to play with more than anything. And from playing with it, it hitches way to much. Just sits for 10 seconds and freezes. I am waiting for SP1 without a doubt. Besides ... there is no reason to get it yet. XP is fine and will be fine until some product comes out that requires Vista. And to be honest .... when that day comes, I'll be looking at Apple and Linux.

It's pretty nice. Currently writing a certification study guide about Vista, so I'm running it on a lab PC.

I've run RC1, am running RC2 and have RTM but have had no need to load it.

RC2 installed on a P4 3.6Ghz w/2GB Ram w/an ATI 9700 Pro. Haven't had a need to shut off the bells and whistles. Runs smoothly thus far.
Pretty sure I'll be replacing my main XP system once Vista SP1 is out.

I didn't think I'd care that much about Office 2007 but now that I'm using both Vista and Office 2007 I don't think I'd like to do without them.

People who have managed to grab those make me jealous. My university store said that they wouldn't be getting copies until April because of "production problems at Microsoft." :|

I've been using it since the begining of the month. I've got an MSDN subscription, so when I got my laptop I just installed Vista Business RTM as the only OS.

It's been rock solid for me so far, as has Office 2007. Only problem that I've had was that the Mobile Device Center (aka activesync) took a little bit of work to get installed. Everything that I've tried to install works, including drivers designed for XP (when I couldn't find Vista ones).

I'm liking the eye-candy, the search features, and the networking.

What I don't like is the UAC. MS thinks that it is better to ask for someone to click OK three times to make a change rather than just asking a user one time per change for his/her password.

I usually wait until at least SP1 before I upgrade but I dunno. Vista's killer-ap might well be DX10 and DX10's killer-ap might be Crysis.

Then again, by the time hardware can push Crysis at decent FPS, then SP1 or maybe SP2 will be out!

So, just have to wait.

I gave Vista a pretty good look. Too many "no driver" issues for what I do.
After about a month of careful consideration on my main rig, I won't be using Vista any time soon. Maybe in a couple of years.
