I've had Office 2007 for months, but I'm not hot. At all.
Outlook 2007 is buggy as hell. It's slow and just plain unusable:
Bullsh*t. I've been running it for two months. Granted, it doesn't have the "wow" factor that the rest of the Office upgrade has, but it runs just fine. Did you actually install it and use it? Or did you just do a quick Google search for something negative to post?
Have had RTM running here for a month or so, dual-boot on my main dev box with XP. Vista is a slick piece of work, even more so from the perspective of a Windows software developer. Cool stuff in there for us. As for the general user Vista experience: the install was faster and required less interaction with the user than ever before; the system came right up and installed all my hardware out of the box - even natively supported my TV Wonder card; figured out the XP dual boot setup without my help; Aero is good looking, and what's more important, since the UI runs on top of Direct3D now the whole thing is smoother and more responsive, with less screen flicker when dragging large windows around (I run at 1920 x 1200 on a X2 4400 with 7600GT and 2 gigs); I am sort of iffy on the new start menu - not sure yet; the flip-3D thing... neat but not all that useful to me; active preview thumbnails on the start bar... neat again, sort of useful, I don't get lost in Windows, so whatever; UAC... turned it off; Explorer is slicker in a lot of ways. The thing I really appreciate though is stability and responsiveness. The system just feels snappier than XP, in booting, using, and shutting down.
Oh, and I like the sounds .
