I'm thinking of getting an ORB Drive. Anyone else used one of these? can you share your experiences with them?

I have one, and two of my friends also bought it. we are all very satisfied with the performance. surprised it hasn't been more popular.

It functions well.

You have to be very careful with the Disk. Each Disk is actually one Platter Hard Drive, one drop to the floor, or similar action, and you can kiss your Data GoodBy.

Im going to try to do you a favor and save you the pain and annoyance of these things. Ive used 3 and ended up ebaying all of them (I bought all 3 at the same time and had problems with each one). They are very very very picky. Unless the disc is in the drive 'just right' it wont work. they are unreliable. if you drop a disc, often times thats it, all your data is gone just like that, they cant handle ANY abuse whatsoever. They are also pretty slow, sure they are faster than a zip drive, but the transfer rate is abysmal. Had these drives worked as promised and not come out almost a year or 2 later than they were supposed to it would have been great, but really no one has them so you cant really transfer stuff anywhere and with how easy it is to lose data on the discs you dont want to store anything you cant afford to lose so why buy them?

I heard they are cheap and pretty fast, but the reliability is not so hot. Which the previous posts tend to agree with from personal experience.

I opted to go with a burner for storing my data. That'd be my suggestion, but then again I can be clumsy so the thought of having a sensitive product is something I like to steer clear of.

I'd go with the burner

My vote is for a burner too, that way you can also make music CDs and make backups for games
