Anyone used the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II?

hey,

I am looking to see if any AT'ers use the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II speakers? I am looking to get a 2.0 or 2.1 setup (I used to own 2.1 Klipsch but had to give them up a few months back). I listen to all kinds of music, from hip hop to classical, but I do live in 1br of a 3br house so I cannot be blasting my music or shaking the walls with bass (which makes me lean towards the GigaWorks...)

I am deciding between the GigaWorks or the Logitech Z2300 as they are about the same price ~$130.

The T40 and Z2300 are completely different kind of speakers. The T40 will give you better (more detail, accurate, cleaner) mids and highs but will severely lack bass. Z2300 gives you average mids and highs, but more lows. Notice I said more lows, not better. The bass on the z2300 tend to be boomy, but it's not too bad. Just a matter of taste I guess. If you listen to softer classic music, then get the T40. For pop, rap, or harder hitting music, consider the z2300.

Yea, that was what I had gathered from reading the reviews and comments at amazon and newegg. I wonder if BestBuy has the GigaWorks on display so I could test them out.

Do you know if I could later hook a standalone sub to the GigaWorks if I so desired, or would that require having a receiver (these are for my comp).
