My XP 1900+ can almost reach 1800mhz, currently using an SK-6 with a 60mm Delta. Was thinking about getting a new heatsink, with an 80mm fan to see if I can make it.
Now the SLK800 looks to be gigantic. pic. What if this heatsink was paired with the Vantec Tornado? The tornado has me scared, but I will at least be putting an 80mm delta on it. I've got 5 noisy 80mm case fans and SCSI drives already, so more noise won't really be noticed.
I was mainly curious as to how the SLK800 performed compared to the AX-7, the heatsink I had my eye on before this came out. If I buy this thing with the tornado fan and still can't hit 1800 mhz I'll go insane, so I hope it works.
edit: just my luck HardOCP has a review of this heatsink, with the 80mm tornado beast fan. Under their tests it beat the Alpha 8045 and the Swiftech MC462. I guess the only question now is if I can deal with the noise.
