Anyone using a 7800GTX on an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe?

Board: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
Card: nVidia 7800 GTX
Current PW supply: Antec 460W

Issue: Every couple of frames (in-game, desktop, etc) the screen is black. It lasts a fraction of a second, but it's really distracting. I've redone the OS 5 times, am using the latest nVidia drivers for both the card and board. All connections are secure. Monitor is plugged into DVI-1.

Oddly enough, if I unplug the power for the card, the card (of course) complains it's not getting enough juice, but the black screen goes away. This leads me to wonder if I need a better power supply. I've read the board is very picky.

Any ideas?

I have the same mobo/video card setup and it runs like a dream. Although, I'm using a 500W Vantec PSU. First try buying another PSU. If that doesn't fix it you can return the PSU and video card altogether and get a new 7800GTX. What brand 7800 did you buy?

How many amps are on the 12v of that psu? If it's over 26, the psu is probably not the problem.

I have two 7800GTXs on an Asus A8N SLI Deluxe and no such problems. Can you try your card in another box to see if it's defective? And another card in this box to rule out other hardware?

I'm thinking of getting this: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817703001 It's expensive, but I've heard good things.

The brand is BFG. I've never had an issue with them so to suddenly have one would be surprising. I talked to them briefly and they said the minimum requirement is 400w (which seems low, but whatever).

Holy crap! You don't need something like that. That's overkill. Just buy a good 500W PSU like a Vantec or Antec.

DUDE, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!!! ok so it was a different vidcard/mobo, but still the screen would go on and off after a while. it was a x700pro and msi, radeonXPRESS. I ended up just getting a different video card, but I have a (opens up case and checks what psu is) Bestec 300w PSU. I don't think it was enough power, but strangley enough the vid card would only do that when i was running through the dvi port. even when I used the dvi to vga adapter it would still do that, but when I went straight from vga It wouldn't do that.
