I didnt think it was that good. Seemed simplistic and generally lazy, considering the cast (Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy) and creator (Kevin Williamson, creator and writer of Dawson's Creek, Vampire Diaries, Scream, The Faculty, Teaching Mrs Kringle). I dont normally give up on a series after the pilot, so I guess I'll watch for a couple more episodes. I thought this would be much better, especially considering the pilot episode is usually the best in a series.

I am alone in this feeling?

Was too busy with 2 Broke Girls and Community rerun... Tried flipping during commercials, and I kinda liked it. Hardcore violent.

I liked it. Which according to the last couple of series I liked means it sucked and will be cancelled after one season. Evidently I have crappy taste in TV series.

I actually enjoyed it, but then again I did watch it thinking it was gonna suck. I just didn't have anything better to watch.

Liked it. Good enough to set to DVR anyway. I like the premise.

The premise is interesting, but I have a hard time believing every week there will be some person or persons who are doing Purefoy's bidding. I dont think Purefoy's character's charisma was demonstrated well in the pilot. Maybe if they focus on a disciple for a couple of episodes, then move onto the next one, etc. They could build the backstory up a bit with flashbacks. The disciples seemed too organized and dedicated, and I dont get the motivation. Other than some kind of mob insanity. Bacon's character just seems too broken based on what was in the pilot. It feels like the pilot was over 2 hours, and was edited down to 43 min.

Why did they kill Maggie Grace?

The show is going to get cancelled pretty fast.

It's pretty good so far besides that though.

Seems like this is less "murder of the week" and more a continuous story. Only 14 episodes this season (plus pilot) according to commercial.

the body count is likely to go pretty high, characters will probably come and go every few weeks.

so 2 episodes in, im still onboard. the violence level is still on the brutal edgy side and so far no one has had to hold the stupid stick. the conversations between purfoy and bacon are very meta, and the structure of the reveals are very Lost-flashback slow build to internal episode standalone character arc.

so long as they can keep up this level of quality and dont push the plot arc to fast for some sweeps week artificial ratchet up I will be watching.

Predictions:whiste:

The ex-wife will be in on it.
Some other agent Kevin Bacon is working with will be in on it.

The guy will somehow escape again. (most likely while being transported from one prison to another)

But I will reach through the TV and choke someone if Kevin Bacon is involved.

I liked it enough; the wife really liked it because she found it really "freaky". We'll see how well it holds up, but not a bad way to pass an hour. I still prefer Elementary though.

I think the computer guy....or possibly the cult specialist lady
though I think the lingering looks at the end of last episode when she gave him the book of Poe's works made that too obvious to be it

While the premise is entirely improbable, I really like it in that we can never be certain whether ANYONE (other than Bacon himself) is a member of the "following." It creates a sense of persistent paranoia that makes the show pretty compelling. Last night, I liked the use of the Poe masks as a creepy visual shorthand for the "following."

They need to start being careful about the cheap scares. Thery will get old quick.

1. When the guy in the Poe mask attacks Kevin Bacon from behind. So some guy just sneaks in the room without making one bit of noise and then stands right next to the shelf with the masks in perfect timing to Kevin turning his back? Kevin turned and boom there he was. There is no way you can rush into a room perfectly silent like that. (unless you have mad ninja skills)

2. The security guard dropping from the vent in the ceiling to attack the police officer. The officer was nervous and in a hightenend state of alert and that fat security guard just lowers himself down from the ceiling in perfect silence and surprises the guy and takes him out again without making any sound to alert the ex-wife in the other room???

1. The guy with the mask was already in the room when Keving Bacon went in there.

2. I agree with this.

I don't watch Criminal Minds, and I don't want to watch this either.
