Its not set in stone but I think they want to move onto a different cast for the movies. Also, something happens in this movie that may say why there aren't going to be anymore TNG movies.

So what happened? I think a summary is in order.

After watching some random, original Star Trek (with Kirk), it seems to me that they break every directive the Federation has, be it prime or temporal. Does it really take Starfleet 200 years to come up with some rules that the first Enterprise had experience with in the first place?

They ask for too much $$, and considering there are 4 main characters: Stewart, Frakes, Spiner, and Dorn, that's got to take its toll on a movie that only brings in a relatively moderate amount of box office receipts.

Actually, I'm looking foward to seeing next week's episode. It's supposed to be about how one of Tpol's ancestors got stuck on Earth during the 1960's or sometime around then. Their ship breaks down and they have to live on Earth for a while without being noticed. Might be kind of funny to watch.
