When we lived in western Wyoming, the locals said they had 3 seasons...July, August, and Winter.
IMO, they were right, although you were subject to have measurable snowfall in ANY month...My kids still have fond memories of July 4th 1986...they were setting off their fireworks in about 6" of freshly fallen snow...
