What is involved in running the crucial 2100DDR Cas 2.5 at cas 2, simply setting it to cas 2 in bios?

Does rated cas 2 ram perform no better than rated cas 2.5 ram? If you can set 2.5 to 2.0 why even have 2? Any advantages to cas 2 listed ram?

I was told pricewatch has some "grey" companies to avoid but I do use they to get an idea of prices.
I will look over mwave again already been by once thanks to Yucky didn't find a couple items and check out hypermicro as well.

I know lower latency equals better speed. What I was asking about is someone suggested I set the 2.5 cas crucial ram to cas 2 instead of buying cas 2. Does rated cas 2 ram perform no better than rated cas 2.5 ram set at 2.0? If you can set 2.5 to 2.0 why even have 2? Any advantages to cas 2 listed ram?

Use Pricewatch and Resellerratings to research a bit on the company before buying. Any ratings over 5 are pretty good, I prefer above 6

CAS2 type RAM runs at 7ns, as compared to normal RAM that runs at 8ns.
Lower latency = higher frequency.

Have a look at the Asus GeForce2 Ultra, heard that one is ok.
Cases, I tend to go for AOpen cases. Others may disagree, but thats my choice.
Go for cases that have good cooling cycles, allow better circulation and extra room for additional fans.
(Preferably one with vent holes on the bottom of the PSU)

The differnce is that one is running in spec and the other is not. If its 2.5 then they only imply that it will function reliably at that spec, while running it at 2.0 may be possible, you have no one to complain to if or when it doesn't. I am running 2.5@2.0 and have no problems, but that doesn't mean that you won't.

What is involved at running 2.5 at 2.0? Simply setting it to 2.0 bios? Is there instances where the rated 2.5 will do 2.0 but not as well as as rated 2.0 or is it an issue of do it or not?
