Anything to do in Baltimore?

Work is sending me out to Baltimore later this month and I'm wondering if there is anything to do? Should I take another day or two off of work to hang out and site-see since hotel/plane tickets are paid for?

Also, is there easy transportation to DC from Baltimore without a rental car? Kinda like a tram/train back and forth?

Just stick around the Inner Harbor and do not walk too far away from it. If you can't see it anymore, turn around and walk back quickly.

To get from Baltimore to DC, you'll need to take the MARC train that only operates during the weekdays.

Meh, not much to see in Baltimore other than the harbor or a Ravens game. The harbor is a great place to go eat on a nice day, although it can get a bit crowded. Besides those two things, it's a cruddy city.

Im not sure if theres a train from Baltimore to DC. For someone who hasnt visited either before, I would recommend sight-seeing in DC over Baltimore.

If you want to go to DC, take the MARC from Penn Station (any taxi can get you there easily).

However, it only really runs on weekdays. There are trains on weekends, but they'll cost more.

The Inner Harbor is pretty nice. There's an ESPN Zone, Hard Rock Cafe, nice aquarium, and some shops like B&N, BestBuy, and a mall. Also a bunch of good restaurants - seafood is good, some of them are very expensive. Panera, PF Changs, Capital Grille, McCormicks, Chipotle etc.

Outside of that, there are a few clubs - if that's what you're into. And that's about it~

I've been to DC before when I was sent to the Bethesda office, so its not that important to sightsee. Looks like I won't be doing anything extra overe there but relax and enjoy per diem then. Thanks again.

Science Museum, Federal Hill, Fort McHenry, Aquarium, the zoo, Railroad Museum. Aside from that, Fells Point for the bars as others have said. That's about it. First time I walked through Camden Yards I was pretty impressed.

Oh there is the Walters Art Gallery as well.

I have been to baltimore once and out of all the cities I have visited it is by far the worst most ghetto city ever. I stayed near the convention center for a supercomputing conference. Little Italy was a shining grace though.

If you like the college scene, check out the bars in Towson. Otherwise Canton is a good time, as well as Federal Hill and Fells Point. The Zoo isn't that great here, but the Aquarium is pretty fun.

are you going with anyone? if so, there's sh*t-tons of interesting bars around town. like others have said, Canton, Federal Hill, Fells Point, Mt. Vernon, Little Italy, and maybe Hampden/Charles VIllage or Locust Point are all loaded with bars and restaurants.

not quite sure what tourists do, but i suppose the harbor, Camden Yards, Ft. McHenry, the National Aquarium, Walters Art Gallery/Peabody, and Hopkins are worth strolling through. i always see people touring Fells Point (ghost tours?) when i'm out drinking.

fuck baltimore, go take the 45 minutes ride to dc and you wil have a much better time. I have been to dc 3 times since the summer and its a blast. Plenty of hot women, and the bars are a good time. Georgetown will be espically good now since kids are back at college. That is if your younger looking to hang out and drink.
