The infestation would last years. years. think you have enough food to last 4 years barricaded? eventually whole cities would be infected. sure 1 on 1 zombie is easy. how about 10,000 walking towards you. who dont get tired. run all you want but there will be another town infected with 5,000 zombies there. they start after you. now what do you do?

Simple; fire.

Everybody knows zombies are highly flammable.

Next?

adding fire to zombies makes flaming zombies that still want to eat you. I dont see how this helps. Unless you can get them hot enough to melt their brains.

You're not using the right accelerant.

The difference is that zombies are not sentient and do not plan their actions. Vampires do. Vampires know that if there are too many of them and they feed on all the people, they will starve to death.

Also, vampires know that they are totally vulnerable during the day light, so they dont want to get people against them.

Zombies do not think, they do not plan, they do not fear. They just keep coming. That is why the zombie apocalypse is a realistic scenario where as the idea of a vampire army coming is just...crazy talk.

exactly

people win wars by instilling more fear on the opponent than there opponent is on them. Zombies dont fear. they dont surrender. Even if there is just 1 left. it will still walk, crawl, drag themselves to feed. that is the scary part.

I've read my zombie survival guide, seen all the movies, reading world war z. I still think it's terribly scary. Anything scare you more than that?

It is exactly against this sort of zombie apocalypse that I am building my army of killer robots.

All we need is a boat... And a fishing rod, assuming all the fish aren't zombies. Maybe some kind of garden... The future race of humans will be vegan.

The alien creature from "The Thing" is scarier. Has the same fear of infection aspect, only it's harder to kill and can mimic other humans exactly while being malevolently intelligent. It can infect others by biting, clawing or introducing part of itself into the body through food or injection. It's endlessly adaptable. Cut off a part and it grows limbs and skitters away. Draw it's blood and the blood itself will seek to infect others while avoiding danger. It can form biting or scratching appendages in any location it chooses.

Edit: The Thing is Scarier NSFW

Why would you need a fishing rod if everyone is vegan

Assuming zombies can swim, I think it goes without saying the the space station is going to be our only bastion of safety when the day comes. Might be a little tight in there for a while.

I've always said if I could choose my way of dying it would be fighting to the death in a zombie apocalypse. They would have to be slow zombies though, to maximize fun factor and minimize horror.

best bets are castles in europe. the ones with big enough interior courtyards for stables and gardens. high walls, no low windows. once above the snow line so the zombies will freeze in the winter and you can go out and raid towns for supplies.

That won't work. Once all the zombies die and pile up outside the walls it just builds a ramp for the latecomers to stroll up. There's no where on Earth they couldn't get I don't think.

you can use long pole to push the dead bodies down, burn the bodies down to ashes... simply not kill them.

You already get a nice vagina shot of her in the first Resident Evil (towards the end when she's getting off the operating table)

burn the bodies

You need cremation type heat source to knock the pile right down, unenclosed is impossible without lots of finite fuel. Although even the ash would build up unless washed away. Like a castle on an island with the walls right on the shore would work, I never thought of that.

all that stuff in vampire movies about their weaknesses is just there to fool you.
they have no issues with any of that stuff.

The slow zombies don't freak me out as much as the fast ones. I just started playing Left 4 Dead and those zombies are ridiculous, make me jump out of my seat when I see hoards of them rushing at me and I can't reload fast enough.

slow moving zombies would definitely be scary and exciting, but shouldnt be fatal if you are prepared. the outbreak cant last that long just bc their bodies will decompose relatively quickly. tho frozen zombies will be preserved. aliens are scarier, mostly bc they are a complete unknown, zombies you know what you are getting into. extinction level meteor also worse, cannot do anything about that. second coming or any other sort of deity showing up also very scary. sun dying scary.

magnetic pole reversal worries me also... if you wipe the population, they will be happy just surviving and content to rebuild society. pole reversal would wipe out modern society, but not the people. total chaos.

So AntiFreeze, what's your response to the alien from "The Thing" being scarier?
