I have an 80 pally on WoW, 78 Bear Shaman on AoC and 55 warden in EQ2. Here's my rundown.
Wow: I got bored as hell and quit WoW around march this year. Everyone blew through the WotlK content so fast and they dumbed down the heroics so much. I never liked WoW dungeons so when you aren't raiding the dungeons are pretty damn boring. I've never been a fan of the cartoony graphics in WoW either. I resubbed recently for the hell of it and my guild which has 432 members only had 3 online lol. I talked to an old friend and he said most everyone quit due to boredom. Didn't surprise me one bit.
AoC: The graphics are downright the most breathtaking especially in DX10 mode. Unfortunately it was buggy as all hell at release so I quit last year at 76 and just started playing again. Thankfully the bugs have been resolved and the game is very stable now. I miss the Bear Shaman, it's one the most dynamic classes I've seen in any MMO. One thing AoC gives you that no other MMO can is blood splattering fatalities. They are really satisfying to say the least Once I get into the swing of things I'll start raiding T1 again then push to 80 and more T1/T2 raiding.
EQ2: Horrible launch but they have really improved the game 1000 times from then. The built-in voice is really nice. There is so much to do in the game when levelling. The heritage quests never get old no matter how many alts I've done them on. The crafting is far superior than AoC and WoW. You can level up very fast but to compete you need AA and that requires more time. I started my warden in Nov 2007, quit a few times and restarted. Unfortunately I also created way too many alts because it's so addicting in that game. You got 24 classes to choose from! Well, ok 12 are very similiar to the other 12 but still the variety is pretty cool. The graphics are much better than WoW but pale in comparison to AoC.
I also played EQ1 from '99-2001. Tried going back a few times in 2004/2005 but just couldn't get into it. I have really good memories of that game because of the harsh nature of it back then. It took forever to level and you had to group(unless a necro) to level up. The long corpse runs were harsh, the hell levels were harsh, losing XP was harsh , the travelling was insanely long but god I loved it!
If the AoC raid content is any good I'll probably stick with that game over the others. I hear EQ2 raid content is good but with my altaholic issue in that game I doubt I'll be 80 any time soon lol. As for WoW, what can I say. TBC was awesome but WotlK was a huge letdown for not just me but many others I know.
