AOL @ CompUSA 3 months free & save $10 on a CompUSA purchase

The title says it all. Sign up for AOL at CompUSA. You'll get a $10 credit towards a purchase made during the same visit (they wouldn't let me use it to buy a $10 gift card). The first 3 months are free. Cancel any time during the first three months and you owe nothing.

lol, i wouldn't touch AOL w/ a 10 footpole, but if there's a $10 CompUSA GC, this could be good! I recall signing up fo AOL to get some free dvds before.

also, if u're into signing up for AOL for their internet, there's really no need to pay. every month near the end of your month, call in and tell them u want to cancel. they'll offer u another free month u. my friend's done this for 9 consecutive months. i think they're hoping u'll forget to call one month and when u do call, they'll say too bad.

Yeah, if you have a specific need for the 3 months or know someone who might like to sign up anyway, that's a good deal. Otherwise, I'm not sure it's worth the cancellation hassle.

this is very ymmv. i work at *some store* and *we* don't have anything like this. but, the stores are very desperate to get you to sign up. aol rennovated compusa stores around the country in exchange for x number of signups and a couple of years later they aren't even close to their required number.

BUT, if you need to make a return on an open box item, and they want to charge a 15% restocking fee, a "If you waive the restock fee, i'll sign up for aol" can do wonders. ymmv.
