AP Chemistry or AP Physics?

Which one should I take, my senior year in H.S.? I think the AP Chemistry teacher is slightly better, as I've had both teachers before. A lot of my friends are taking AP Physics though, so I think it should be more fun. I'm thinking about being an Enginnering major, and I'm wondering if I take Physics if I will have to retake it in college anyways, even with a 4 or a 5 on the AP exam. Chemistry on the other hand though would possibly complete all of my enginnering chemistry requirements, assuming I do well on the AP? Last year I struggled more with Physics though then any other class I took, while I found Chemistry to be pretty easy my sophomore year.

take physics, you'll probably have to take it agin using much more advanced math in college but you'll be glad that you had a strong fundemental.

physics will be of more use to you in college, if you decide to get a Bachelor of Science degree

I enjoyed HS AP Chemistry more (just due to the teacher I had), but AP Physics was fun too. Both counted toward college for me. I would go with whichever you enjoy more (or feel you need to learn more)

I took AP Chem last year and started AP Physics this year (today, actually ). Personally, I love chemistry, so I would recommend that... but my best practical advice would be to take whichever subject is more interesting to you.

Edit: BTW, is it AP Physics B or AP Physics C that your school offers? If it is B, I would definitely recommend taking Chemistry. I've heard alot of schools won't give you credit for Physics B regardless of what you get on the AP exam, because it's Physics without Calculus.

i didnt get credit for Physics at UCLA, 4 and 5 on the tests. Wouldnt have gotten credit for Chem if i wouldve taken it either. I would take physics though, just because itll help you when you have to (probably) take it again

I'm taking AP Physics next year (junior year) then AP Chem my senior year. AP Chem is very easy aparently which is why I want to save it for a slacker senior year.

First of all, are you talkin about AP Physics B or C? B/c don't take Physics B...it's a waste of your time if you're going to be an engineering major.

I took both classes in high school and it really helped me out in College b/c i got credit for both classes in college (helped that I got 5's on both tests). I'd say do whichever one you think you'll find easier, b/c it's your senior year and you're not gonna wannad do any heavy thinking after winter break...hehe.

Good luck!

um, ap chem is harder than chemistry in college.

and physics C is harder than college physics (depending on teacher)

wow pretty indecisive here, I think we are taking Physics C though, as you have to be in Calculus in order to take AP Physics. As far as the difficulty, I think both will be about the same level, maybe Physics will be slightly harder.

Chem. Physics won;t get you any credit most places unless it's Calc based. But many places will accept 4 or 5 on Chem.
