Didn't you complain about noise last time as well?

Move out to a cabin. With neighbors being 20, no, 50 miles away. You won't have to worry about noise ever again.

Being around civilization means having to put up with noise, jerks, traffic and crap in general.

If most people work 9-5 then guess what, chances are good the land lord and other people doing the siding have that schedule as well, so the weekend is the only time they have to do it.

You'd hate to live in my area. There's a hotel that has been under construction for the last 3 or so years. There's a couple streets in my area that are also completely dug up and repaved every summer. There's always construction related noise around here. I just deal with it. *sun glasses animation*

What?

The time work is done has nothing to do with when the landlord works.

And if the siding folks work M-F 9-5, they wouldn't be doing anything on the weekend, right? Siding isn't their side job I suspect, it's their full-time job (or working with building materials in general - many businesses/contractors in that market handle siding, roofing, windows, etc).

So they work when they are scheduled, and perhaps their schedule is not M-F, which it usually isn't because homeowners like to be home (or have to be home) during such work and thus it does seem a majority is done on the weekend.

And I've seen plenty of them doing it in the morning on a weekend.

OP, would you be bitching if you lived in a house you owned, and gasp, your neighbor dared to have work done at 9am on Saturday? It's more common than you think, especially because it's up to the scheduling of the contractor.

My neighbor is grinding metal right now. They're always grinding metal. I can't imagine what they're doing; probably like the sound. The joy of cicadas any time you want :^S

Weekend work is entirely legal in many cities, even SF, within the allowed hours.

I'm sure your landlord will be appropriately sympathetic.

14 year old troll account checking in.

Maybe if you were the landlord this shit wouldn't happen.

Two trolls with 14 year old accounts. Any more of you out there?

You are very astute to have noticed that we all signed up years ago and have been waiting, and waiting ... and waiting for you to post a foolish complaint. Evidently your heat works, your air conditioning works, and there is not a hole in the roof raining on your kitchen table.

You have to endure having new siding in your neighborhood at no cost to you! That is truely a tragedy of our time. The next thing you know they'll fix the potholes in the street when you go to work, but don't count on it.

How do you figure the disturbance is the same?

I work Monday through Friday 9 to 5 so I don't hear it on weekdays. I only hear it on the weekends.

Ugh I hate this mentality. Everyone here has landscapers who makes a shit-ton of droning noise. Just because the homeowners are not around here to bear it, it doesn't mean it's not annoying. I work from home and it's beyond ridiculous what the noise culminates into. Everyone except me and 1 other guy has landscapers. Do they really need to run their leafblower for 20 straight minutes, each?

My mom recently retired and she said the same thing to me the other day, without me mentioning anything. F U landscapers.

As for the original question, I think there's an ordinance here against companies doing home improvements on Sundays but Saturdays are free reign. As long as it's after 9am, I don't care.

Well I'm assuming the land lord might be the one doing the work, and has friends or family helping. If he and they all work 9-5ish jobs then the only time they can work on it is the weekend. If its hired contractors, then I don't know, maybe they work weekends too.
