So, I'm apartment hunting here in Toronto (for a room). My new enemy is the phrase "females only", which is stupidly on like half the listings. This is really starting to piss me off, because all the decent-looking places have this phrase attached.
Yes, I know because I'm looking for a shared place that legal discrimination doesn't apply. But a ton of these are some random landlord looking to fill up a 4-bedroom house with girls only. The landlord doesn't actually live in the place. I'm perfectly okay if a person in a house is looking for same-gender only roommates. But when the absentee landlord is looking for "roommates", I feel this is a slap in the face to males.
Why can't they decide to rent out all the rooms to "males only"?
