I recall at least a few posters having lived in Binghamton or are familiar with the area.
I'll be moving there in May but I might go next week to find an apartment (waiting for confirmation from relocation peeps to make sure it is all expenses paid ).
I've been checking a few apartment rental sites. Note I'll definitely be renting and I'd think an apartment is the best thing to do. I've rented houses and apartments, and apartments are usually just way easier to deal with: good parking, snow removal, small and easy to clean up, usually nicer, easier to heat/lower bills overall, include dishwashers more often, more furnishings usually present, etc.
I've seen this particular place called Summit Chase which I remember during my interview visit, several of the recent college grads specifically mentioned it as bad. I've seen quite a bit of bad reviews. So things like that I was hoping to find out, to know what ones to completely avoid.
There seems to be a lot of apartment complexes like it... fairly large and roughly all the same.
My biggest complaint with apartments is noise, although that comes down to not having an absolute POS neighbor like one I have now.
I also care about price (specifically I'd probably want heat included, no?) and location. I'll be working in Johnson City, but it seems like Vestal, Binghamton, and Endicott are close enough (15 minute drive?).
Thanks
