Anyway, there's lots left in Tucson. They have about a dozen or so different 500VA models and not surprisingly, the one that weighs the least is the one on sale. In fact it's even lighter than the 350VA models. It has a tiny battery that's maybe 1/4 the size of the APC 250VA UPS I'm replacing. I wonder how many watts of amps it can really handle? Smokin' deal though, it's even has phone line protection (4 wire!) and includes the the serial cable. Thanks allisolm!

What's the manufacturers date that most here got? Mine was made in August 2001. Just wondering how old the batteries are.

The stores in the Phila. PA have been restocked as of Thur. 3-21. When I went in on Mon. they only had the model BE500C available, but a truck showed up on Wed. and now they plenty of the one with rebates BE500. A $70 UPS backup for $10, outstanding deal.

Fort Worth Texas AT'ers. Just picked one up at the store near Hulen mall. They had several left in two locations. The very top shelf where the rebate is posted and also on the very bottom shelf. Clerk printed out 3 copies of the receipt without even asking.

Says one rebate per household/person/etc so if you want more then one take some cash and have another name/address ready

After talking to the manager he assured me it was the same thing as the BE500. He even gave me another copy of the receipt with his siganature saying if the rebates are not paid the store would pay both.
Later I made about 5 phone calls and after over 1 Hr. on the phone finally got Cir. City corporate rebate dept. to say they would honor both rebates for model BE500C.
Hope this clears up all the confusion. >>

SafetyDance thanks for the price match heads up. I just got off the phone with AmEx, they didn't have any problem PMing (Crossing my fingers). I've PMed a couple other things that had rebates through AmEx without any problems. It's still a good deal for $15, really nice one if the PM comes through.

Only the BE500C model available at the South Orlando store tonight. They insisted that this model did not qualify for the rebate.
