APC is not Conext, but I believe Conext's UPS are built by APC as they are identical. Just bought a Conext 300va that looks identical to my APC 500va. This looks like a great deal, 45min run time.
conext looks exactly the same as the apc model i got already...every one of them, the 300va, 500va, 700va...same lights, buttons, ports. i believe its safe to say conext is a rebadge
<< Who cares what you people think ... I work at apc .. I think I would know .. >>
Well I guess it only proves that ignorant employees exist in every company becase the warranty cards for both APC and Conext UPSs have the exact same address just a different dept number. The Conext user manual even references APC tech support in their manual
...Hmmm really ignorant APC employee. If has been confirmed many times before that APC and Conext are one in the same and have the exact same tech support and mailing addresses.
Funny .. when I call APC Tech Support I get a live person ... when I call Conext .. all I get is an answering machine .. and pray someone calls me back in a day or two ..

Just a curiosity question -- if you work for APC and have such obvious contempt for Conext, why are you calling Conext?
Observation -- the Circuit City UPS pages list the Conext products with titles that say "APC..." and brand/model information that directly indicates that Circuit City believes them to be APC products. They've been that way on the CC site for a long time. I know because I've bought several of the Conext UPS's from them in the past. So here's the question -- how long would it take APC to sic their lawyers on CC once they figured out that CC was attaching APC's name to their "competitor's" products? Especially considering CC is a pretty good-sized APC reseller.
Question to everyong else -- Am I unnecessarily feeding a troll here, or is this guy really a moron?
<< anyone have any idea how long this upc would last in a power outage using just a lamp with a 40 watt light bulb >>
Good question, once I had a power outage at night and the ups saved the day by providing some sort of lights for my house. I went with one of my compact floursent bulb, but the power came back on shortly. I'd venture it'll last you 5-6 hours, if not more on this UPS.
Has anyone ever hooked up a car battery to your UPS and checked how long the power would last? Could be great for people who have a lot of power outages.

Please dont listen to the rest of the idiots who post to this board .. on a 40 watt Bulb with a 700 VA Unit you would be looking at roughly 2-2 1/2 hours of time.
