I've only done two CC rebates, and they were a year or two back...Got one pretty late and never got the other, lets hope this one goes through.

Thanks for the deal. I'm having trouble setting mine up in Windows XP. The software that comes with it isn't compatible with XP. Also,
although XP has native UPS support, it detects the APC but that's about it. No info on runtime, capacity, or battery condition. Can anyone help? Thanks

Thx
picked up 2.
The runtime on these is like 5 minutes if that. I wouldn't be hooking this up to your main rig.(It's going on the wife's!)
I use a cyberpower 1500 AV for my main rig and server. It's not cheap but the AVR on this thing is sweet!
It lasted me an hour and 45 minutes with a 19" monitor and 2 cellphones charging about a month ago when most of jax went down for a minimum of 8 hours.

My computers would probably overload it as soon as the power went out. (One's a 1.0-GHz Athlon with three 7200rpm IDE hard drives; the other's a dual 500-MHz P!!! with two old (half-height) 7200rpm SCSI hard drives and a couple other drives). Something this small would be good for keeping network equipment up and going. I think this would be good for keeping my cable modem live in a power outage. I could even set up email notification so that my cell phone gets notified when the power goes out at home, just like I have it set up at work. (The server (the aforementioned dual P!!!) has a 900VA CyberPower UPS on it--one step down from what you're using. I just replaced the batteries last month; it'll keep the server going for about half an hour.)

How long will this last for an Athlon XP 2000+ System with 350 Watt PS, 2 7200 RPM Hard Drives, Geforce2 GTS, 19" Trinitron, and printer? 5 minutes at least? I just want to make sure I have enough time to shut down properly when power goes out.

Also another question.. I was wondering if the battery came fully charged or not so I unplugged the thing after I plugged it in for like 10 minutes at the start.. Did I damage my UPS that way? And should the unit always be discharged fully before recharging like some old laptops?

Just wondering.. but does anyone know how long a regular light bulb lamp would last with this thing? Maybe if this UPS isn't powerful enough, I just might use it for a small light for when the power goes out.

These are sufficient for the software to shut down your system...I don't use the software mysefl on my main rig and server, there's a problem if I'm home and away from my PC for more than an hour...I hope both my rebates go through they say they will only pay to the name on the receipt...hmm...cc may just suck yet...

I used this with:
Athlon 1.4 250Watt PS, 512MB 2 7200RPM drives, GeForce 3, 19" Sylvania F93 monitor, printer and speakers and got about 15 seconds of power whe nteh power went out...yes it was fully charged. The software didn't even have time t shutdown before the computer had no more juice left...Now I have that one, and the 500VA one..I get about 3 minutes combined, but I have 4 computers and monitors running on the 2 backups

15 seconds? Damn.. I thought I'd at least get 3 minutes.

For those disappointed with the length of time the UPS lasts, perhaps unplugging the totally unnecessary junk would help. If you just need the UPS to give you time to save a spreadsheet, don't plug your speakers, printer, scanner, USB hub, PDA cradle, force-feedback joystick, iron, hair dryer, etc. into it. You most likely only need the monitor and cpu (perhaps some network equipment if you're working on remote docs). Naturally the rest should be on a surge protector of some sort...

Will this have enough juice to hold a big screen tv, fridge or washer/dryer? Just need to hold power for 1-2 seconds during flicker time. Got that a lot and already toast a tv before.

UPSes aren't designed to power inductive loads. Household appliances would kill them almost immediately (especially something like a dryer, which pulls 2-3 kW @ 240V when it's running). Your TV should be OK on a UPS, though...it's no different than sticking a really big monitor on your computer (and usually doesn't draw that much more power).

Thanks for the info, I need a few of these for my HDTV and Home Theater Video/Audio setup. Need to protect these expensive system from voltage spikes and dirty signals comming from the AC line.

I don't know what you guys have in your computer, but I have 3 of these.. one on my web server, one on my file server, and one on my main rig. I think my file server takes the most power since it has 14 hdds, 2 cdroms, p3-1ghz, floppy, jaz drive, my 21" monitor, etc.. and it lasts for about 7 minutes. Have tried it out on my new athlonXP 2100, but I imagine that takes similar power since AMDs are power wasters...

The guy who had 3 seconds, your battery must be bad. I really don't buy that any working unit would only last 3 seconds...

I am going to CC right now to see if they have any more in stock... thanks for the deal!

You are wrong. Anyway, it's NOT the same style, OM has the BE350C on sale, which CC has too for $39.99.

Having said that, since the flyer from OM does not actually say which style, and they look same on picture, you may get lucky on PM. In that case, you get it FREE after the reabte.
