Anyone recommend a good, inexpensive wall mount for this? BB wants around $100 and I can't justify paying almost as much for the mount as the TV.

Although strangely if the TV were more expensive it would be alright, maybe I should just pay extra for the TV?

i saw a couple on ebay that didn't look all that bad. only thing that worries me is their build quality. i plan on just building one with L brackets and wood, it might cost me $10

Good idea masterxfob it would be a lot stronger, maybe finishing it with a coat of stain to match the woodwork in your house would look awsome.:light:
I think I will do the same..

Here are 2 scans of the UPC.. Please don't use them fraudulently. These are for the people who have to wait for delivery, being that it is going to be so close to the rebate postmark date deadline.
UPC 1 UPC 2

Thanks! Now I know the second number is a "9", couldn't figure that out from my UPC code. Does anyone know why this rebate is asking for a copy of the UPC but not the original?

Let me know if that doesn't work. Mine might be pulling from cache.

Rebate form works, for now. Thanks.

My local BB run out Tuesday, only 2 floor models available. Sales Manager would not sell it for less than $139.99 (display model, manual and remote). Shelf tag was showing $189.50. Their regular price is $226. He mentioned that the $25 MIR is only for the BB.com purchase.

Sales Associate "promised" that they would be getting more on Thursdays truck. My fault was that I waited too long on ordering it on-line and store-pickup last Monday. Looks like I'll have to drive to the other BB that still had them in stock.

If they've run out in stores, does that mean those of us who ordered online (and scheduled a delivery) are SOL?

huesmann, i'm not sure. When I placed my online order, it showed up "not in store" (even though it was). Then the CSR at their 800 number said that he *couldn't* schedule it for delivery, that it was an in-store item only.

Luckily, they have reversed their policy and the mail-in rebate is valid for in-store purchases of this TV.

As you all are discovering the B&M BB inventory system leaves a lot to be desired. I and a few other folks got into a "brisk" discussion with a BB worker on Usenet in the PocketPC forum a couple months back. Guy was trying to get a replacement under their BB extended sales plan (or whatever it's called), and he'd call and ask if it was in, the CSR would type on the computer, say "yep, it's here", guy would drive down, "oops, we don't have that"...happened two times in a row to this guy. So we got into discussions (sometimes heated) about how the BB inventory system is not "real time", how a big chain like BB could survive not having a real time inventory system, why the hell for a $600 PDA the CSR couldn't "walk in the back and check" when he knew the inventory system sucked, etc.

My point? Don't trust what the BB B&M CSRs tell you if they look things up "in the computer", even if you're standing there in front of them.

I ordered one on Monday and requested in store pick-up after system said the TV was available at a local store. Well, I later got an email saying it wasn't availble for pick-up. When I called to change to delivery the CSR's are telling me it's OOS and I have to wait for more before they can change my order to delivery. I just want to make sure I get it in time to send in the rebate form. Of course I found out that the entertainment center I want to put it in is 1 inch too small (TV is 29" wide spot is 28), but the TV is such a good deal I still want it.
My order is still processing so I'm going to make them honor it one way or another.

The TV is not 29" wide. I measured mine and it is shorter than 27".

I was going by the spec's listed on BB's website. If it's only 25-26" wide that's perfect. Now I just have to get BB to honor the sale. I called earlier today and they said they'll cancel the order after 7 days if it isn't filled. I told the CSR that I talked to that if their website didn't tell me it was available for in-store pick up I would have arranged for delivery and that they should honor my order one way or another.

Thanks but link not working.

Works for me. Ahh well, I figured the bb links would die but looks like they're still up.

BTW, was trying to get a raincheck on one today (they will honor price) and noticed one behind the sales counter. Got them to drop the price to $129 cause it was open box. Supposedly previous owner returned because he couldn't figure it out. Even if the rebate doesn't come because of the open box I'm still happy.

When you turn the TV on does it automatically go back to the tuner input or does it stay on what you had it on before? I have it plugged directly into the outlet (ok, extension cord going into an outlet) and I'm using a digital cable box attached to the tv on the video1 using rca/composite cables. This happens regardless of whether I'm powering the unit down from the front of the TV or using the remote. It's very annoying to have to grab the TV remote to change the input everytime I turn it on.

Same problem here. I'm sure they'd say it's not a problem; it's a "feature".

CrimsonKing, and whoever else willing to help, how do you find your component input cables work? I finally tried to use three RCA Video (yellow) cables to test the component input. I can't tell much a different between this and the S-video input, or even the sigle RCA input. Maybe it is because my RCA cables are cheap (they came with my VCR, DVD and camcorder). I don't think they are shielded as supposed. Then I thought it also possible that all three input methods are not much different on this TV anyway. That is why I am asking before I decide to buy any more cables.

I don't have an S-video cable to compare with. I've been using RF input until I bought this TV, so I'm thrilled just with the difference between the RF input from my TiVo and vid-1 using a composite connection from my receiver. There's an obvious difference between the composite and the component input, but I can't say where S-video fits in there.

Next time I place an order with Parts Express, I'll throw these in with the order. I like their in-house brand and the price is good for the quality.

Edit: I still haven't decided if I'm keeping this TV thanks to the lousy picture quality that alternates between the Vid-3 and DVD inputs. It just makes me think there are further quality issues that will surface after the 90 days are up. Plus, I'm not yet sure how to get rid of the magnetic interference from my center channel speaker. Is anyone else getting this?
